Vehicle Detail

1971 Porsche 911T Targa Driver Consider this car a drivable project car. I took it on trade from my brother for a BMW he wanted. The car is a 1971 911T Targa with a 1973 2.4 liter engine and matching 915 transmission. VIN: 9111111924 Engine Number: 6139044 Mileage: Unknown? Original Color Code: 2310 Tangerine THE GOOD: The engine has a set of Italian Weber carburetors that were rebuilt just a couple of years ago. My brother used the car as his daily driver since he bought it back in 2008. It starts easily, and idles and runs well. It can still be used as a daily driver! The exhaust is solid. The heat exchangers are in good shape. The Fuchs wheels are real nice and the tires are brand NEW. All glass and chrome trim are excellent. The interior has a decent dash. It has a couple of the usual cracks, but not too bad at all. The seats are really nice. They appear to be from a 1968 911 because they don’t have headrests. The door panels need some love. Half the pockets are there, the others are MIA. The steering wheel is leather wrapped. The stitching is gone but the leather is still pretty good. There is a rare under dash speaker panel installed. The Targa top vinyl is in very nice shape and fits well. The seals are dried out. THE NOT SO GOOD: Although the car is solid structurally, there is rust on just about every panel. You can see from the pictures that the jack points are good and the front and rear suspension attachment points are intact. There is a small hole in the pan in front of the gas tank. The battery box has some small holes. The floors are solid. The paint is cracked, chipped, bubbled and spidered. There are lots of pics at: studio1erie dot com/71911. In fairness to all, I will not end the auction early, I do not have a buy-it-now price, and there is absolutely no reserve. The high bidder will own this car! I will assist in overseas shipping, but it is your job to find a carrier and rate. I am waiting for the title which should be in my hands by auction end, however, it is out of my control and might be a few days following the auction end.
