This a California truck that I have owned for five years. I have driven this truck reliably every week over the past five years. Use her for yard work, dump hauling, trips to the dog park, little league parades, and just strutting around town! A great "10 footer"....meaning it looks great... from 10 feet away. I got as a project truck for my son and I to build together. We did a partial, frame on restoration about 5 years ago....so it is very clean. The engine is not original, but the numbers suggest it is a 1962 version of the original 283ci small block V8. It is tight, starts immediately (new battery), runs strong, and idles steady. Drove it on a 500 mile trip over two days about six months ago and it didn't burn a drop of oil. Shifts smoothly, clutch has lots of life left. Newer Coker 15x8 Vintage Smoothie wheels with baby moons and 4 brand new 225x60x15 tires -- over $1,000 in wheels/tires alone. New shocks front and rear. New fuel tank and sending unit with restoration five years ago. Frame is straight and rust free (except some minor surface corrosion). Chrome bumpers front and rear in great condition. We put in a new oak bed with stainless strips (although the bed now needs some sanding/varnish/TLC. Interior is clean with new bench seat including belts and removable center console. All gauges in working order (except speedometer, which I have new replacement for your install). Headlights, tail lights, brake lights, turn signal lights all in working order. Of course she has all the scratches and dings one might expect from a working truck. Amateur paint job from five years ago is sun faded but serviceable. Except for some surface rust underneath, body is largely rust free with some filler above headlights and lower door corners used to patch rust through areas. Replacement windshield has a five inch crack in the lower driver side corner, but it has been stable for years. Rest of the glass seems original with some internal bubbling but generally pretty clear and windows in working order. Working heater. The brakes stop her OK with some pumping required because I live on a steep mountain road, but they do need some attention.....to be bled at a minimum, possibly new shoes and/or drum clean up. One of the exhaust pipes is loose at the manifold so a bit louder than desirable. Importantly, she is geared as a farm truck, so top speed is 65 pushing RPM hard...but she runs great, no shimmy or shake, at all speeds. Included if desired are some miscellaneous spare parts, a 3 ton floor jack, jack stands, ramps, etc. Truck is for sale locally, so reserve the right to halt the auction prior to end.
