The car was purchased brand new back in '72 and has been garaged its entire life. Over the years and has received required maintenance and we will be including those records with the car. The records detail and act as proof of the mileage being ORIGINAL at roughly 47k (not 147,000). It's only modifications have been a Monza exhaust system installed in the late 70's and aftermarket Murretti wheels. The car is being sold with the original title in hand.COSMETICALLY: The car was involved in a minor "fender-bender" back in '82 where they professionally repaired a fender and the hood. This is evident only by close inspection under the hood. The paint has kept evenly over the whole car and to the untrained eye, you would think it's all factory paint. There is one minor dent on the passenger quarter panel between the wheel well and the rear bumper. Other than that, the car is pretty much free and clear of any other cosmetic defects. The pin-striping has faded and could use either complete removal or re-striping. There is no rust anywhere on the body of this car. Like I mentioned, it's been garaged in CA it's whole life. The hard top is in excellent condition with no rips or damage. The soft top is in pretty good condition with no noticeable leaks or rips. As you can see from the pics, the front seats are original and have experienced some rips and tears. The driver door hinge appears to be cracked, causing the door to sag a bit when it's open. The tires are old but have a lot of tread and don't appear to have significant cracks that would require immediate replacement. MECHANICALLY:Currently the car runs and drives well. Like any carbureted car of this age, it takes a few minutes to warm up and run smoothly. Over the past 15 years it really hasn't been driven much (currently registered CA non-op). It's been regularly started to keep the fluids moving but hasn't seen much of the streets. We recently went through and cleaned the carburetor, checked/topped all fluids, cleaned out the gas tank, and adjusted the points to make it more road-worthy. As is, you could drive the car around town and you would be fine. Don't mistake it for a fast little sports car. It's not. It's just a cruiser. If you try and drive it hard, the gears grind from 1st to 2nd while shifting. If you drive and shift slowly, there is no grinding and it shifts smoothly. There are no significant oil leaks, just slow seepage over the years that has collected on the underside. OVERALL:Overall you're bidding on a car that can either be fully restored to it's original glory, or can be enjoyed as is for the novelty of it. I have described it to the best of my ability and will be happy to answer any questions you may have. If you'd like to physically see the car before bidding, I'm open and available for that. I'm listing and selling it on behalf of an elderly family member who can no longer enjoy it. The title will be signed over and ready to go at time of sale. Included as well will be all the service records and manuals. My only acceptable forms of payment are cash in person or a bank-issued cashiers check.
