Vehicle Detail

BARN FIND! The car was previously owned and sat in a garage unused for 15 years. I picked it up from the gentlemen who found the car. . Car has the original 144 6 cylinder, carb was rebuilt what can I say she runs, starts it’s a typical ford 144 with the log style manifold. She has not been driven much since found and she is still being sorted out the valve seals where changed being they where broken from sitting so long but she may need additional work like valve guides typical work with older cars that have been sitting I am sure she has a lot of carbon build up also . She did make a 40 mile trip to where she is now. Transmission shifts great. So far new wheel cylinders, fuel pump, shocks. very good tires and other work has been done. She drives, stops and is a nice numbers matching original falcon overall. The car was repainted and then put away in a garage soon after so I was told. There are a couple of places paint wise, some minor cracking and blemishes and a few paint runs. A little bondo around the rear wheel wells. Nothing major, requires a little attention and some tlc if you want to make her perfect but overall she is a 20 footer and looks very good from that distance. Looks very good for a 50 plus year old car period and the average person would be none the wiser and she present well overall. Glass is good couple of scratches, passenger side window has a scratch running across window looks like it may have been rubbing at one point in its life with no window felt. She drives well and steering is tight. At any rate she is a great car with only some surface rust underneath, floor boards have 1 small welded patch on drivers side and that’s it the rest is solid, Rockers, inners, shock towers, ect all excellent. Trunk, inner panels ect all solid. Very nice overall redone interior no rips, upon inspection it looks like the original interior is underneath was tempted to see but leaving well enough alone, newer carpet. Top goes down great but struggles and needs help on the way up sometimes she goes right up. Could be a leak or low fluid in the pump car comes with an extra piston. Top is in great condition including inside frame and bow pads. Odometer reads 36,000 have no idea if its original or not. The car is being sold very cheap you will not find another falcon convertible ever for this price. If you have been looking for a project car this is it, great swap out v8 project the car that everyone wants! I was going to do a v8 swap but to involved and lost garage space so I have to move this plus some others I own. Again Good Luck car is being sold with no reserve. $1000 deposit required within 24 hours of auction close. If you do not have the funds on hand do not bid. Get permission from your wife, your dad your mother whatever before you bid!!! Do not ruin it for everyone else! If you have negative feedback or less then 10 bids do not bid or I will retract your bid. If you bid please contact me, serious bidders and collectors only! Car can be seen at any time after 4pm and is located in Nassau county long island and is encouraged. If you want additional pics tell me what and I will do my best to get them to you. At this price however you will never find one even running or near this condition. They are priced from 8,000 for a # 4 car up to over 30,000 fully restored concourse of course. Do your homework you cannot go wrong. Good Luck and Happy Motoring just in time to buy and get her ready for cruise night! On Apr-24-14 at 04:14:48 PDT, seller added the following information: Thanks for all the inquiries! An ebay member brought to my attention all Futuras where 170 cubic inch the vin is 3h15u207456 so its a 170 cubic inch not a 144. Here is the contact info 516 424-1836. Please text with your name so I can keep track of all the inquiries. Thanks Again! On Apr-24-14 at 07:01:21 PDT, seller added the following information: To answer the radio question, Yes have the original am radio and will come with the car. It presently has a Falcon modern retro radio am/fm cassette, CD capable working well so yes you will have tunes to cruise with! On Apr-24-14 at 17:02:39 PDT, seller added the following information: To answer the questions regarding the paint its presentable. It looks like a quick spray job job from back in the day. I would rate it 6 out of 10 but presentable from a distance, best way I can describe it. Plan was to sand blast down to the metal, get her laser straight, epoxy primed and then repainted. If she had a 5,000 paint job on her the price would not be $4750. A wet sanding and compound couldn't hurt if you where going to not restore the car. In all honesty the way it is gives it a little character its all subjective if your looking for mint, no this car is not mint and is not being advertised as such. I will post all answers to any questions being they are from multiple Ebayer's as I receive them. Thanks again for all your interest! Please if your local the best thing to do is see the car and please understand I am not taking offers outside of Ebay! Car will go to the highest bidder! THANK YOU!!!On Apr-25-14 at 15:43:07 PDT, seller added the following information: The car has been recently compounded out and it most certainly improved the overall appearance of the car. Email me with your off site email and I will send you the newer pictures. The ford front letters have also been installed on the hood.On Apr-28-14 at 10:22:38 PDT, seller added the following information: Again thank you for all the inquiries they have been overwhelming at times but hoping whoever the winner is will take her to the next level. As far as history I only know what was stated above. It is obvious that she was maintained throughout her life being the top is in very good condition and some one along the way did the interior seats and door panels. The steering is very tight not loose like on most falcons and other then some surface rust underneath that you would expect on any car even a few years old she is solid. The sills and rockers as I stated are solid, she starts right up and runs with the typical unsteady standing idle in drive issue that most 6 cylinder falcons have with the log style manifold due to the fuel distribution problem known on these cars. However I did install the phelonic block to eliminate vapor lock from manifold to carburetor. Again I have not sorted her out entirely so being a project car it may need something here and there. However sourcing parts is easy, they are cheap and restoring this car is easy as they come and will not break your wallet and you will get a great return on your investment. Being I bought her as a project car and yes investment, my only concern was rust and restoration costs dealing with rust, not an issue on this car. For some one looking for a driver she runs and she can get you from point A to B and be made very reliable with some money thrown into her. I am being honest in everything I described but being a collector for 30 years my standards are quite high so I am comparing this car to show cars and maybe a little to critical of her. However she presents well and my family and onlookers think the car looks great! For me being a collector great is a car that wins first place in car shows which my others have. With that said if I did not lose storage she would not be for sale. My other cars are all show cars and basically finished so this one is the first to go while I am trying to find storage for the others or you will be seeing them shortly on Ebay also. Right now my driveway looks like a parking lot! This is my last post, all inquiries will be answered by email or text as soon as I can get to them all, if I left anyone out my apologies. I will try to get to anyone I may have missed later on tonight. I recently sold my 1972 280se on Ebay to a gentlemen in PA site unseen and trailered enclosed back to PA the feedback was simply" fabulous car" and it was, probably best on the east coast. So bid with confidence she is a solid # 4 Ford Falcon convertible, based on Hagerties valuation that translates to $11,000. Again thanks for looking, your inquiries and Good Luck if you bid! Happy Motoring!!
