1986 Honda Rebel

I'm selling a 1986 Honda 450 Rebel. The bike has been sitting since 1986 and only has 739 miles. I have the title and keys. I got it from a guy that bought it from the original owner. He let it sit outside for a year or so under a motorcycle cover so there is some surface rust spots, a little oxidation on the aluminum and some pitting on the chrome. Its not a perfect bike but it would make a great commuter bike or first bike. The last owner coated the inside of the fuel tank and cleaned the carbs before it sat. I did a quick cleaning of the carbs and drained the gas. The bike runs great but I still have to fix the shut off, it won't let fuel through but I should have that working soon. Even though I cleaned the carbs they may still need a professional rebuild. The carbs were not bad but I didn't have access to the right carb cleaning solution. Once I fix the shut off I'll take it for a ride and see if it's good as is. Everything works on the bike but it will need new tires and a battery. It wouldn't hurt to change the oil, plugs and just do a general check up on it just because it's been sitting for so long. The good part is when your done you'll have a bike with only 739 miles on it. I have it listed elsewhere and may end the listing at any time. As for the carbs they barely leak now, the bottom of one carb just weeps a little. I took it for a ride around the neighborhood, it rides great and everything works, all lights and controls. It accelerates great and goes through the gears fine. The brakes work but the front feels like it needs to be bled. The bike will need new tires and a battery to be safe. I would suggest it gets a major tune up and carbs done also. As I said before it has it's bad storage wear here and there but other than that it's a great bike. If I had the room I would keep it. If you look close you can see the written in mileage when it was last inspected in June 1985. The mileage then was 485 miles.On Apr-24-14 at 15:34:42 PDT, seller added the following information: In the last addition I made to the listing about the inspection sticker I said it was last inspected in 1985 but it was actually 2006. I peeled that sticker back and the sticker under it was from 2005 and reads 485 miles. Was I thought was a faded 485 miles on the 06 sticker was actually just showing through the top sticker.
