This is an exceptional 1985 European Mercedes Benz 280SL from my late brothers estate. He was the owner of a German car service center and this car was his prize possession. It has had the major 90,000 mile service plus an valve job at the same time. It has been inspected by a local Mercedes Benz service center and only minor issues were discovered with the car that would be typical of a car this old. The paint an interior are original in exceptional condition and the car has always been garaged (of course). It was "Americanized" when imported which included a side impact brace being installed in the doors and a catalytic converter being added. Original halogen headlights were replaced by sealed beam (required by law at the time of import) but can be easily changed back to original. Points of interest is that this car has the originally designed bumpers and not the ugly extended bumpers required for US cars that were added to the US imports. Additionally the pin-striping on the car was hand done by the factory which was not included on the US imports. Car also has original first aid kit and tools that are often missing. The 2.8L six-cylinder it bullet proof and is the preferred engine for many Mercedes Benz owners over the larger 3.8L V-8 on the American imports in 1985. While the car is the European version there are no problems with any parts that would be required that are furnished from Mercedes Benz in Germany if not available at the local Mercedes Benz dealers. It is a great car for a person that loves Mercedes Benz that I must sell as much as I'd like to keep it. I own another Mercedes (a 1984 280SE) and just can't keep both of them.
