Selling my 51 to cover the cost for another project. Clean, solid, dependable car. Just returned from another trouble free 1200 Mile round trip from Lone Star Roundup. . Open drive conversion. (SBC, TH350, 69 Camaro 2:73) Paint presents well, Interior is good, most everything has been replaced or re-built. Car will come with a new, never installed 2 link suspension kit (with 2 rear bags) from Jimenz Brothers. These retail for over a 1,000 bucks . The negatives: -Engine is a 307 out of a 1970 Chevelle. It runs great and has been trouble free. However , on my last long trip it did burn some oil. I believe that it just needs new valve guide seals. It will blow a puff of smoke upon startup… After that …it does not smoke… but it will foul the plugs after about a 2,000 miles driving at highway speeds. Car does not burn oil driving around town. - - Left rear tire is new, but, it has a painted whitewall that will fool most people until they look closely. - Front bumper is nice except for about a 10” x 4” area where the chrome has peeled off.. - There is no headliner/ or bows …just sound deadener… you’ll have to chase those down.. - Seat cover under the drivers side rump is split in a few areas - The engine does not have a dipstick.. sounds nuts but I rely on the oil pressure gauge to monitor the oil level. The manifold installed covers the area where the dip stick is located in order to clear the steering arm. I have a manifold from a 1955 car that you will need to use to restore the use of the dipstick…and you will have to have the exhaust re-plumbed in this area. Or, you could probably devise a flexible tube to route the dipstick. - Front windshield is new but I got behind a gravel truck going to work one morning and was hit with 3 pieces of gravel before I had time to react.. result= 3 small rock chips on the driver’s side glass. It cost 25.00 a piece to have them repaired - Drive shaft was cut and balanced a year ago, however, it has a vibration at 65-75 MPH, and needs to be dropped and re-balanced again - I drive this car a lot..the paint is nice, however, there are a few rock chips and a couple of minor door dings. - Chrome center grill bar had a few dimples - Right signal chrome surround is dented - 8” x 4” of hood painted in black primer. Went out one day and there was a dent on the crown. Although I did re-work the area and get it smoothed back out, I have not had time to do a re-paint in this area. Still looks pretty inconspicuous though. Now for the positives: - Front end has been re-built - New Wiring harness. Front to back. - Hood welded and peaked - New shocks - New Exhaust - Newer Paint - Newer Interior. Dash painted white. Door panels are new, also white. Seat covers are black. Seats re-padded and are great underneath. - Re-manufactured Q-jet - Transmission rebuilt approximately 4,000 miles ago - Air shocks in back with accessible fill valve to add air when you need it. - Tires are good. 85% left on them - New 1 wire Alt. - New rear bumper - Car runs great and problem free - Radiator might be newer..I’m not sure but it looks fresh - Car does not overheat… runs cool all the time - New front coil springs - Fresh inner/ out bearings - Floor has been tunneled to run bags - Trunk area is upholstered and looks nice This is a really nice car that you can be proud of. With that said.. It does need a few things to make it just right. -
