1970 Mercedes-Benz 250 W-114 Sedan Automatic Cream on Tobacco Text Justin 503-969-5127 Hello again all out there in the land of eBay, and welcome to my auction. It is my pleasure to introduce you to a really nice vintage survivor Mercedes 250 Sedan. Mercedes aficionados will also know this car as the W-114. This one is a very clean and original California and Oregon car that I was lucky enough to find all dry and in one piece. The car had been used over the years here and there, but it was far from road worthy. Bad gas, carburetors were gummed up, tires rotten, brakes dragging.. The regular stuff from a really long slumber. I have a soft spot in my heart for these cars though, I just love the lines and the small bumpers. They are just the right size vehicle too. Big enough for four adults, but not huge. I spent more than I wanted to on a few services that the car needed but that is the way it goes sometimes. I will give you a list.. Brakes all around including rebuilt calipers, belts and hoses.. This may sound easy, but the belts take over 2 hours, Rebuilding carburetors, don’t try this unless you are retired.. Took 3 full days.. Spark plugs, wires, cap, rotor.. Instrument lights, interior bulbs, tires. Ok, 250 lesson… The heater fan is a big deal on these cars.. If you are looking at 250s.. Make sure the fan works or decide that you don’t care because replacing them is close to impossible.. I got lucky on this car and it works fine.. Most do not. The rest of the car is really nice. The interior is really impressive. Original and beautiful.. The carpet has some wear and a few stains but the seats are really nice and the dash is nice too, but there is one crack. The exterior is 80% original. The deck lid has been painted and also the passenger side below the center. As you can see it shines well and looks great. The chrome is all straight and solid. Speaking of solid, this is a solid and dry car. No rust problems or cancer. I will add pictures of the undercarriage when I get to a shop with a lift. The engine runs really well. No leaking, no dripping, no smoking even when cold. Starts easily and runs well after about a minute of warm up. Auto chokes work correctly. Very clean and sorted under the hood. The engine has excellent compression in all cylinders and full oil pressure at idle. The transmission has a tendency to slip between 2 and 3 under hard acceleration but holds firm if you plan for the shift with a break in the accelerator. It does fine on the downshift. It is a fault of the car, but one I have lived with and it has not affected me. If you want a perfect car, it will need to be addressed. The blinkers and brake lights and map lights all work properly, as do the wipers and power windows. The radio is not working for some reason and I never sorted it out. The trunk is as clean as any I have seen, but it has no carpet or rubber mat. I uploaded a youtube video but you need to be on a desk or laptop computer to see it. Tablets don’t see the link for some reason. This little 250 has a ton of vintage appeal and will surely be one to hold on to for future appreciation. It is over 44 years old so if you are not used to a vehicle this old please call me and let me help you make an informed decision about a purchase and what ownership will be like. The mileage states 83,091 but I have not owned the car forever so I can guarantee this. That looks reasonable for the condition of the car however. I am selling the car with a LOW RESERVE and I know the Mercedes will sell the first go around as long as we all play by these rules. #1. Only bid if you have intentions to buy. #2. Ask any and all questions before bidding. #3. Please contact me BEFORE BIDDING if you have zero or negative feedback. #4. This is an AS-IS sale. I have done my best to describe it exactly as I see it but it has no warranties or guarantees. #5. I will not accept Pay-Pal for the balance payment of the truck. Pay-Pal is for the deposits only, the balance must be paid by certified check or wire. Legitimate and legal buyers only please. Just be real and genuine and I will make sure that the winning bidder is happy with his or her purchase. Also, I will end the sale for the right offer so don’t wait till the last second and worry about missing out. Just call me and we will work out a fair price..
