1970 PLYMOUTH DUSTER 340 This is a very original 1970 Plymouth Duster 340 in the optional High Impact EK2 Vitamin C Orange with Black Bucket Seat Interior. The car has been parked for many years. The car has the complete MATCHING NUMBERS DRIVETRAIN and has the ORIGINAL FENDER TAG. The stamped VIN Numbers are on the Engine, Transmission, Radiator Support, Fender Tag and Dash. Mileage shown on the car at the time of this auction is 56,562 miles.  Since this Duster is over 10 years old we are selling this Duster as "Milege Exempt" for reporting purposes. This car is loaded with the ORIGINAL NUMBERS MATCHING 340/275 HP Engine, Heavy Duty 727 Torque-flite Automatic Transmission, Original Rear-end, Manual Disc brakes, Rally Instrument Cluster, Bucket Seats, Factory Console, Factory Dual Exhaust, Factory Stripes, and More. The car is all original paint with the exception of the driver’s side quarter panel. The car still has bias ply tires with L60-15 tires on ET Mags in the rear with one rally wheel/bias ply tire on the front and the original bias ply Goodyear spare tire on the other side. Bias ply tires in these old sizes have not been made since the late 70’s early 80’s. The exterior of the car is original paint with the exception of the driver’s side quarter panel. The front grill on the car is in nice condition. Both front fenders are original and rust free but do have dents in each fender. The hood is original however a previous owner has cut a hole in the hood for the factory type hood scoop. The front bumper is original but has had the center section cut out. The cowl and base of the windshield is excellent with no rust of pitting. All the glass in the car is good including the windshield, side glass and rear window. Both doors are original to the car and rust-free. The floorboards and frame rails are RUST-FREE and as good as I have ever seen in an A Body Mopoar. The rear trunk pan is nice with some pitting in the spare tire well. The right rear quarter panel is original. The right outer wheel housing is excellent. The right rear lower trunk drop-off is rust-free. The bottom the right rear quarter panel is dented and has a small rust spot near the rear wheel well. The left quarter panel has been repaired many years ago due to accident damage. This is the only non-original paint on the car. The driver’s side outer wheel housing is excellent along with the lower trunk drop off. The quarter skin will need work and rust repair in one spot shown in the pictures. The rear tail panel is perfect with no rust or damage. The original taillights are excellent. The original rear bumper fits like a glove. The original trunk lid is perfect with no damage, original paint and no rust. The roof of the car is excellent with no damage. All the stainless steel trim is complete and excellent. The rear window channel is perfect with no rust or pitting. Overall a damn good body for a Mopar A Body car! Under the hood the car has the ORIGINAL FENDER TAG. Refer to the pictures of the VIN Stamping. I am told the engine does start and run on gas through the carburetor. I personally have not started the engine. The radiator is the original radiator with correct stampings. The original battery tray is the next thing to superb. The front radiator support is excellent with no rust. The inner fenders are excellent with no rust. The automatic transmission and rear-end are correct. All the suspension is complete and appears original. Included with the car are the ORIGINAL & UNIQUE TO A “340” CAR THE DATED ORIGINAL SET OF EXHAUST MANIFOLDS. These exhaust manifolds are very expensive, hard to find and always missing on most every Duster 340 you look at! The original jack is in the trunk and the original spare tire/wheel is on the car. The interior in the car is original and in fair condition at best! The original carpet is poor and missing in the front foot wells. On the bright side you can see those NICE Original Floor Pans! The front seats are original but have had covers installed OVER the original seat covers. I have not pulled back these seat covers to check the original seats for a Broadcast Sheet for this car. It may well still be there! The original dash pad is cracked. The original rally instrument panel is complete. The steering column and is complete with the wrong steering wheel. The heater controls are complete. The original radio is missing. The original center console is complete with the original shifter and is in NICE condition. The rear seat bottom and back are in decent condition. The Rear Metal Package tray area has been cut out of the car by a previous owner. I do not know why I just know it is missing. The cuts were nicely executed. This car will need a replacement metal package tray sourced from a parts car.
