Vehicle Detail

A true, numbers matching 1966 Mustang GT. I have owned the car for 13 years, it has always been well maintained, garage kept, and it used to be my daily driver, but I now use it for a weekend cruiser. It drives well, extremely reliable, handles great, and it hauls ass. The car is a real head turner. Certain events have unfolded recently, and I must sell the car, a decision I am sure I will regret later on. Anyways, here is about the car: Car: Numbers matching 'A' code 289CI V8 225hp, 4bbl, true GT car. It has a 4 speed top loader, with Hurst shifter. It is Vintage Burgundy with black interior, which was the original configuration, the stripes were added later, as well as the hood scoop and side scoops. GT Package: The GT package was only offered on A code and K hi-po code mustangs, with the 289 V8. Being that this car is a true GT makes it a quite a bit more rare than most mustangs. This package included factory front disc brakes, handling package, 16:1 steering gear ratio for tighter steering, fog lights, dual exhaust through rear valence, badges, and a few other neat additions. The front valence was also added which is the Shelby GT350R front valence. Body/Interior:Is in good shape, the car has never has been hit, the paint was done on an older restoration with the stripes, hood scoop and side scoops added. The interior looks great, and the carpet and dash pad have just been replaced. The seats look great as well, all the original gauges work, and I have added a tach. I installed a radio/CD player under the dash, so the car still retains the original AM radio and original look. I installed front kick panels with 6 1/2"speakers and 6x9" speakers in the rear deck, all MB Quart brand. The car has newer style shoulder seat belt restraints for added safety. The trunk is complete with an original red stripe spare, trunk mat, and spare wheel cover. The car has the optional chrome steel styled wheels as well. Engine:I have the replaced the original 289CI with a 302CI roller motor out of an 80's mustang gt. I still have the original 289Ci block that will go with the car, along with cast iron heads and other assortment of parts. The 302CI was built with a fully roller valve train, forged pistons, aluminum street heat high port heads which have been ported and polished, a Barry Grant Street Demon 650 cfm carb, Edelbrock RPM air gap intake manifold which has been ported to match heads, MSD ignition, HI-PO headers, with 40 series flow master dual exhaust. The radiator has been replaced with a much larger 4 row radiator, which keeps the engine running cool even in Texas hot summers. Other Notes:The car looks great and is a real head turner, but by no means is the body or paint perfect, there are scratches and a few dents from being a daily driver. There is a spot where the paint has chipped off on the side right behind the back seat quarter window and below the driver side door as well. The radio antenna needs to be replaced and the heater core for the heater has been bypassed, which I have not used since I live in Texas. This is not a trailered show car, but it is a great daily driver for me for many years, now my weekend cruiser. The Title is in My Hand Ready To Go$1,000 Non-Refundable Deposit is due with-in 24 hours of the auction end. Winning bidder reserves the right to inspect the vehicle If you have any additional questions please let me know, I don't mind answering any questions. This car is a real beauty, amazing to drive, and I want to pass it along to someone who will really treasure and enjoy this car.
