Vehicle Detail
Well I'm sure no expert on International Scouts, but a friend of mines father bought this 1976 Scout brand new. He died a year or so ago and I ended up buying it from his daughter.(it is basicaly a one owner vehicle). This scout truely looks, runs, and drives like an old mans car. Although not perfect, it was garaged most of it's life and was well cared for since day one. The biggest issue on this Scout is that it has some rust in the outer Rockers.(typical scout weakness). Hovever the inner rockers look perfect. The rest of the body is very good for it's age. It has the 4 cyl. engine which is said to be "under- powered". (it's a 196 cu. in. @ 100 H.P.).However...it's saving grace is that it was ordered with the factory 4 speed, as well as power disc brakes.( a huge plus over the std. 3 spd). A friend of mine put 275,00 miles on one just like this.(they are very under-stressed and run forever). This Scout has new tires, as well as a new battery. It came from the factory with an 11" heavy duty clutch as well as the optional 2 speed transfer case. (see pic. of window sticker). It has manual steering so it drives like a truck.I have the factory window sticker as well as the owners manual. The interior looks like that "army green color" I can tell you that it runs and drives excellent. This vehicle is almost 40 years old and I am selling it as- is. I would much rather you plan for the worst and hope for the best than be disappointed in anyway. I may end this auction early due to an interested neighbor. I have a clear and open Colorado title for it. My opening bid is 3,750.00 with no reserve... Now all this having been said... I honestly can't imagine finding a nicer or more original,or low mileage or more un-molested Scout like this for the price. .This is just how I received it.. I have no doubts that it could be driven anywhere at anytime.(just my opinion). I only want the buyer to be as excited as I was when I found it. I think that whomever ends up with this Scout will be very happy...just my thoughts. Terms of sale...I can not ship..... This means I can not crate, box, disassemble, or deliver to a shipping company. I will however be more than happy to assist your shipper, however I can. If you have zero feedback, contact me before you bid or your bid will be canceled, and you will be blocked from further bidding as well. A $200.00 non-refundable deposit through Pay Pal is required within 48 hours of auction's end. PayPal is acceptable for the deposit only. The balance is due via bank/certified check, or cash in person within 7 days of the auctions end. If you are an out of the states buyer, I will gladly work with you in regards to the time and details it takes to process payment. Thank you
