Vehicle Detail
1975 VW Westfalia Campmobile. Rare Hard Top This bus is my daily driver and a great car. Lots of fun. I just drove it to northern Wisconsin and back to CA last summer. The Good: It's runs well and is reliable. It starts right up. I have gone through it and done a lot of work. Has many new parts...starter, 2 batteries (main battery is a $200 Optima and Bosch backup), alternator, distributor cap, wires and plugs, front and rear brakes, front and rear shocks, many new window seals (although some are not installed yet but will go with the car), 2 new tail light assembly, new side mirrors, new chrome headlight rings, all the lights work on the bus, new license plate light assembly, new side marker lights/lens, new front windshield, new clutch cable, new carpet, 2 new brake pressure switches, new CV joints, CV boots, and CV axles, tires are good...etc....new steering damper, new voltage regulator, new battery cables and terminals, The interior is original with blue plaid. All the cabinets are in place and in good condition but one cabinet is missing a drawer and the top. Original jalousie windows open and close. I have the original owners manual and the bug screen for the rear hatch. I also have the table but it's not in the pictures. New canvas curtains. The owner before me had the car nearly 20 years in Southern California (and maybe the owner before him) and so the rust is minimal. This car does not need smog in the State of California. The Bad: Needs a proper paint job. There is some rust here and there as with any car that is 40 years old. A little on the floor boards, under the sliding door, door jams, ect. However, it's mostly surface rust and it's easily repaired. The van still needs some finishing touches on the interior. For instance, I made a wood panel for the drivers door and rear hatch but haven't got around to doing the passengers side or the sliding door. Overall: This is a great bus that keeps getting more valuable. The Hard Top Westy's are especially getting more valuable every year. With a starting bid at $7500.00 this bus is priced to sell. *****Ask any questions, seek any additional information/pictures you might need before you bid. Thanks
