Vehicle Detail
original buyer had a problem coming up with payment. so here it is again, I've washed it, and tried to take better pictures. I forgot to mention in the original listing, another part that has been replaced is the fuel tank. it was replaced with a new one in 2002. Had someone ask in the first auction if the vin on the title matches the panel on the door, and yes. they match. the vin is included in the listing this time. the mileage, 49,854 is actual mileage on the odometer. This is a 1964 1/2 (1965) mustang. The very first year mustang came out. That in itself makes it somewhat rare, but on top of that it came stock with a 260 v8 (partially rebuilt and included) and factory air conditioning! The air conditioning lines have been messed up since I've had the car, so the air has never worked since I got it in 1996. The compressor is from the current engine in the car so I know that it works. When looking to see what it listed for in its current condition, I based it on condition #4. Daily driver, or deteriorated restoration and it listed at. 8500. The word best used to describe a car in condition #4 is fair, but for this cars age and the parts that have been replaced, plus the parts that come with it, I would say that fair doesn't adequately describe it. Now for the specifics. Currently, it has a 1983 mustang gt engine. (5.0) it is running and the car it came out of was a 1 owner, always very well maintained vehicle. It was my step fathers. When I had the 260 in it, it seemed to have problems overheating, so the original 2core radiator has been replaced with a 3 core which solved the problem very well. The automatic 3 speed transmission has been replaced with an automatic 3 speed with overdrive for better gas mileage. This involved adding a special transmission mount. The interior of the car was black, but I've replaced that with the baby blue / off white premium pony interior with padded console and blue padded dash. i also have an extra back seat cover with it. i still have the black, all but one front seat. I've added a mustang logo locking gas cap and had mustang logo keys made. Some parts that come with it that I've not had time to put on yet is the rear passenger quarter panel (original shows rust), front driver side fender, new headliner, visors, weatherstrip for the doors and roof, and the original engine, the 260 v8. It was all but completely rebuilt and had 289 heads put on it before replacing it with the 302 and still has the original generator and starter with it. I do not have the original transmission. Parts that I've replaced are the hood, fuel tank and much of the front of the car. If it's primer grey, it's new, except for the fenders. The front end was rebuilt not long before it started sitting. The tires are very old and cracking but they do hold air, it's been sitting since around 2005 when I joined the army and when I got out in 2009 was when I replaced the engine. We haven't adjusted the transmission correctly yet so as it is it runs but only with first gear and reverse. (Easy fix). It does have power brakes (no power steering) but as long as it's sat there's no pressure and therefore at the moment no brakes. Again, easy fix. This was my first car, I've had it for 18 years. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask! This is an amazing car! Don't pass it up!
