Vehicle Detail
Up for grabs is my personally owned 2001 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 Cabriolet All Wheel Drive w/Factory Hardtop. The Porsche is being offered at a fixed price, however you are welcome to make an offer. The car has just under 111k original miles and less than 2000 miles ago had a major engine out of the car service. Please read below for specific details… Ownership History I purchased the car in August of 2013 from another ebayer who grossly misrepresented the vehicle's mechanical condition and I have spent close to $12k to make the car whole again. I was hoping to have a fun spring/summer car but my priorities have changed and the car needs to be sold. The Exterior The exterior of the porsche shows really well, the paint shines and looks very good. The front bumper cover and passenger fender have been repainted at some point. I have had the entire front end of the car disassembled and there is absolutely no previous frame or accident damage to the car. The car originally came with chrome factory wheels and the chrome peeled extensively so I replaced them with factory turbo wheels off a 2003 Porsche 911. Im sure there might be a minor ding here or there, but honestly nothing worth noting or pointing out. The Interior The interior of the car is in great shape but does have some minor flaws. The seats are in great shape with no rips, tears, or burns. The car is a non-smoker vehicle and its equipped with the factory Porsche crests in the headrests (an option for the year). The car originally came with the walnut wood around the steering wheel, radio, emergency brake, and speedometer. The walnut is the worst of the wear on the entire car and I have begun replacing the walnut with black pieces. I have already replaced the stereo surround, I have the emergency brake handle (not installed yet) and was going to order a leather steering wheel wrap to cover the steering wheel. Mechanically I could write a novel on the cars mechanics… After purchasing and receiving the car from the ebay seller I quickly realized it was not close to his description so I began a long journey addressing the cars mechanical issues. At 109k miles the car went to a local independent Porsche mechanic and the motor and transmission would completely removed form the car. While the motor was out, it was completely serviced (I have receipts). The motor was completely resealed, new intake gaskets, spark plugs, new Air Oil Seperator, NEW IMS Bearing, all new torq to yield bolts, new water pump, new belts, new hoses, new battery, the transmission was also replaced with a low mileage used transmission, and I'm sure I'm missing several things….In essence the car was serviced in the neighborhood of $12k which included the labor, used transmission and parts. I have a complete parts list and receipts from Pelican Parts and other places the parts were purchased at. All the A/C and heater functions work as they should. All 4 tires have less than 500 miles on them as well. Basically I have all the receipts for everything, parts, labor, and pictures of all the work performed on the car. The car basically spent the first 2 months I had it in the shop waiting on parts or in progress of service. The car does have a couple VERY MINOR mechanical issues that came up AFTER the motor was put back in the car, one is a sensor is bad throwing the check engine light on. The ABS and PSM off light intermittently will come on, I was told this is a failing brake light switch, and the ignition where you put the key in to start the car is showing some internal mechanical wear. Convertible Top The power top works and functions as it should, included with the sale is a black factory hard top. Overall Considering the age of the car, this is a great car and I have enjoyed driving it on several occasions. My priorities have drastically changed and I need to sell the car and I realize Im going to take a HUGE loss on what I have in the car and additionally the extensive service work that was done. If you are looking for a decent little get around Porsche thats mechanically solid, this is your chariot. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call me, I will consider all reasonable offers, no trades. 85O - 63O - 2827. I do owe a little bit of money on the car to my local credit union so there will be a couple day delay in getting the title, however once payment is made in full you can take the car. I will accept Bank to Bank wire transfers or cash in person only. Please have your funds ready to complete the sale within 5 days of the end of the ebay sale.
