Well I'm sure no expert on FJ-40's, but a friend of mine has owned this land cruiser for almost 30 years. This is what I would call a barn find... It has been sitting for over 10 years in a Barn.It was running and driving just fine, when he last parked it into storage. The Key is still in it, from when he drove it last. It has some typical rust in the back , and a few holes in the floors like most, but not to bad.The frame and under-side/running gear etc, is excellent. This is a Colorado vehicle (dry climate) I know that the later models (1978-1982) are the most desirable, because of the more powerful 2-F engine, Disc brakes, and ambulance doors, along with the 4 speed transmission etc. This Toyota, with the exception of the battery and possibly the wheels, I would say... is 100%complete and 100% original.The tires are old and cracked, and it needs a battery.I have turned the engine by hand and I am confident someone could have it up and going again in fairly short order. Perhaps this would bee a good candidate for a full restoration?? I have a clear and open Colorado title for it. My opening bid is $ 3,750.00 with no reserve.It is almost 35 years old and I am selling it as-is. I would much rather you plan for the worst and hope for the best than be disappointed in any way. It's sure not perfect, and a bit dirty, but I honestly can't imagine finding a a more original or more un-molested 1981 FJ-40 land Cruiser like this for the price.I only want the buyer to be as excited as I was when It caught my eye and interest.
