Vehicle Detail
Selling my 1977 Mercedes Benz 350SLC. Purchased initially to use to restore my 1980 Mercedes Benz 450SLC 5.0, However it's too good a car to use as a parts car so I would rather sell to someone who would turn into into a driver. It was sitting for a while prior to my ownership, but I got it running by replacing the fuel pump. I've run about 3 tanks of fuel (or about 500 miles give or take) since I got it running and while it runs OK , I would call it a project car. It's very solid underneath, but needs paint as the paint is faded, all of the electrics appear to work, it has 14 inch bundt alloy wheels. It has some surface rust on the drivers door where it appears that a repair was done in the past but the metal was not prepped correctly but the metal is solid, there are obviously some other minor blemishes as one would expect from a 36 year old car. Interior is in OK shape, the seats are a rare cloth and show some wear and the seams have separated. I do not consider the interior as horrible, but it will need work. Engine well enough and does not knock or rattle, it could use a tune up and needs to be driven. I think that it's running a little rich as it does load up if sitting on idle, I've had it on the highway and and in traffic and it goes well at highway speeds and in traffic. It does not run hot and has great oil pressure and good steady idle. I installed a new Bosch fuel pump and filter, but it will need a fuel accumulator as it's a little hard to start if it's been sitting few a short while. I changed the oil and filter when I started driving it (to shake it down) but I would suggest replacing the belt, fluids and other rubber bits. Windshield has a crack. Has period aftermarket radio and power antenna. Heater blower fan works and I replaced the valve cover gaskets when I got it running as the old ones leaked slightly. This is all I can think of at present, the pictures are not the best, but we have a an ice storm to deal with right now so I will add more when it thaws off. If you have any questions, Email or call 404-610-1790 and I will do my best to answer. Restore or use for parts to make your 107 into a Euro. Inspections are welcome, Car is sold in as is condition with no warranty and all sales are final. I do file non paying bidders to recover listing fees. If you're an out of state buyer, you will need to arrange shipping. I can help with working with the driver and loading the vehicle. Happy bidding and please check out my other items. Note!! Added additional pictures in the body of the auction for members who have requested additional photos. We've suffered from an ice storm so some are not great as the car has ice , but I've tried to take pictures of the bumpers as they have been of particular interest. I can take more once the ice thaws. Please see below:
