Vehicle Detail

For sale here is a 1964 4-door Chevrolet Impala. I bought this car earlier this year from an auction with the intention of restoring it with the help of my father, but for medical reasons he was unable to help me. We’ve kept it in our garage since we bought it. I hate to let it go but I’m incapable of fixing the car up on my own, so now I’m selling it to minimize our losses. I’ve gotten the car to the point where it can start and drive, but it has some trouble idling when cold. There’s also an oil leak. The engine is an 8-cylinder 327cid with quite a bit of power. Lights and windshield wipers work. Odometer reads 86,624 miles, but the true mileage exceeds mechanical limits. I know for sure that the true mileage was 84,822 (as shown in a picture) in 1996, but I think the odometer rolled over in the last 10 years. Once warm, the engine runs pretty well and I’ve taken the car for a few spins around my neighborhood. The car looks good on the inside. The seats, carpeting, and ceiling of the car are in great condition. The white and black seats look pretty classy and I’ve reconditioned them so that they’re soft to the touch. The dashboard needs work (there’s sun damage and the radio doesn’t work), and some of the pedals are worn. The windows are manual and sometimes work, but they are getting harder and harder to move because the rubber seals around them have hardened. The outside needs serious work. A new paint job is a must. The car was originally a blueish/green tint, but large areas of paint have faded away. There's a few patches of rust on the exterior. The undercarriage is mostly rust-free. The trunk has been severely damaged by rust and the trunk floor will have to be reconstructed, but the original shape of the trunk is still there so it shouldn't be too difficult to fix (some epoxy & fiberglass would do the trick). The buyer will be responsible for picking up the vehicle, and the car is not fit (or legal) to be driven home unless you live very, very close by. $500 payment through paypal is due within 48 hours of winning the auction, and the rest of the payment is due in the next 5 business days. The winning bidder must arrange to have the car picked up within two weeks of winning the auction. I’m trying to be as straightforward as possible so that whoever buys this car knows what they are paying for. I've tried to describe the car as best as I can, but there might be a few things I missed. I bought this car as a restoration project, but only ended up doing minimal work on it. I enjoyed the time I had with it, but I’m not capable of doing the work required. I think this Impala has the potential to be the kind of classic that turns heads. I am selling it AS-IS. Please only bid if you are serious. I'm tired of having to relist due to bad bids. Thanks for your interest. On Jan-02-14 at 04:46:22 PST, seller added the following information:
