1949 Studebaker What you see here is a 1949 Studebaker truck on a 1994 Dodge chassis with a Cummins Turbo Diesel and AOD. This project began as a very nicely restored ’49 Studebaker 2R15-31 one ton flatbed truck that my father-in-law gave to me. It had a flathead motor and a granny 4 speed. What it transformed to is a usable daily driver if you like. I bought a Dodge truck that was running and in good condition as a donor truck. Basically, what was done is to mount the Studebaker cab on the donor truck chassis, utilizing the wiring harness and the factory gauge cluster. Mike Kelly at JMK Enterprises did the build. He and his guys had to move the motor back 4 inches to allow the cab to fit correctly. When I didn’t like the look of the flatbed on it, they took the donor bed and cut a pie shaped piece a foot wide in front to a point in back, out of the floor of the bed to allow the width to match the cab beautifully. Mike had to shorten the frame 9 inches also, and he found a place to cut the frame and actually run it in itself for a boxing effect that you can’t tell from factory from underneath. He used the stock column and the buzzer for the key, the dome light, courtesy lights, and the green light around the key still work! · Jensen HD Receiver/CD head unit with 4 Polk Audio speakers and a powered sub. · Vintage Air universal unit with A/C ,Heat, and Defrost · Gooseneck Hitch flip ball, with outlets for 6 and 7 prong, and Receiver Hitch with wiring · Any maintenance items come from the local NAPA including breather element · I welcome inspections and I have many pictures of the build.
