For auction is a 2001 BMW 740i M-Sport in immaculate condition. I am a self confessed “car guy” and this has been babied and loved by myself as it is a wonderful running, driving & looking example of the James Bond BMW from Tomorrow Never Dies - although this one isn’t remote control :-) The car has just under 122k on the odometer but you’d never think that. It runs so smooth, shifts perfectly and is no slouch at all. On the freeway it will do decent gas mileage and is quiet and comfortable. Everything works and there are no problems with the car at all from a mechanical or aesthetic perspective. If you are looking at one of these German super-saloons you probably have researched the problems with them. They can suffer from a leaky engine compartment and timing chain issues if not maintained well, leaks lead to issues with the lubrication system and some have major problems stemming from that. I did my research when buying this car, looked at a lot of them before choosing this one to start with. It spent most of it’s life in CA and NV in nice sunny, dry conditions. I then paid to have all those components that cause those issues to be preventatively maintained or replaced. This engine has had all the gaskets (including the problematic valve covers) replaced with brand new ones in the summer of this year along with the timing chain guides. I also replaced the transmission and torque convertor with one from an 80k 740i Sport at the same time and replaced the rear wheel bearings. Put simply - I’ve done all the hard work and preventative maintenance on this car that you’d need to do on one to make it last another 100k without problems. I have kept all the receipts for this work and there will be a folder with all this in it that comes with the car. Comparing this care against others you'd have to buy one then spend about $5k on it to get near this standard of mechanical condition, then pay for a full respray. Here’s a list of the upgrades and options: Brand new black paint - this car looks brand new on the outside and isn’t worn on the interior at all. As the pictures show - this looks like a show car! No dents, or scratches on the paint. Exterior condition 9/10. This is a full respray which I had done a few months ago - the car hasn't seen rain since this new paint. I went for a respray as after doing all the other work to the car I wanted it to look brand new too as well as driving like new. Interior is 9/10 condition - this is a used car so 10/10 is impossible but the wear on this car is so minimal you have a hard time beliving the odometer. Engine and drivetrain is easily 9/10 - there’s no issues mechanically at all, the motor is smooth and powerful and the transmission is slick, shifts perfectly with no noises and has a Manual mode too that works 100%. It will light up the rear tires with ease if you’re brave enough to turn off the traction control! It’s remarkably quick and agile for a big car. Brand new rear tail lights with LED upgrade. Factory front HID lamps. Ice cold A/C and working heating with dual zone climate control function. Cold-air intake system. Sport Package, original factory M-Sport 740i Sport - comes with the M-emblems on the steering wheel and wheels. Has the 18” sport wheels, sport suspension and sport 5-speed automatic ZF transmission. Factory wide-sceen DVD based navigation with the 2012 DVD loaded in the trunk - upgraded to very latest factory software by Global Imports BMW in Atlanta. Full bluetooth installation for streaming music & telephony function (this required the removal of the factory CD-changer in the trunk - which will be included with the sale if you wanted to re-install it for any reason). The bluetooth and streaming function is provided by a GROM aftermarket unit installed in the trunk in-place of the original factory CD changer. The sound in this car is one of the best I’ve ever heard - there is an additional bass unit in the trunk which provides the low end that is missing from the factory BMW Premium Sound System. Not crazy or over the top - this setup is every bit as good as a brand new system in a 2013/14 car. I’m a very particular person and work hard to get things just the way I like them - this sound is setup very well and the bluetooth streaming is fantastic.
