Vehicle Detail
For sale is a 1972 Honda CB750. The title lists it as a 1973, but the VIN (CB7502040878) and the gauges are in line with a 1972 production. The actual mileage is unknown. Not sure how many owners its had. I bought it locally in March 2010. It was running, but largely incomplete. The good: Lots of new and/or replaced parts. Tires, wiring, ignition switch, seat lock, NOS rear turn signal mounts, turn signal stems, brand new reproduction mirrors, aftermarket headlight brackets, clutch cable, throttle cable, rebuilt master cylinder, tachometer, a beautiful NOS speedometer with a little over 400 miles on it, chrome gauge rings, aftermarket side covers, new grips, aftermarket "British style" tail light, new battery. Nice chrome on the front fender. All lights and signals work. Electric start with a strong starter. Front disc brakes. The bad: Some scratches, nicks and small dents in the gas tank; paint nicks here and there on the frame; comfortable king and queen seat has some torn stitching; pitting in the chrome on handlebars, exhaust pipes, and fork tubes; really nice chrome on the rear fender, but has some rippling due to being bent at some point; carbs need to be rebuilt before it is roadworthy, they are flooding when throttled; small oil leak, seals should be refreshed; horn doesn't work; center kick stand is off the bike; brake pads and shoes will likely need replacement. This bike was running great for the three years I owned it, until the carbs started flooding one day. I haven't had the time to work on them. I rode it for over 400 miles over three summers and never had any other problems. There are some scratches along the right side of the bike(turn signal, engine, foot peg, etc.) that show someone laid this over on its side at least once before. I really love this bike, but I've work on old vehicles half my life and am tired of always building or fixing things. I want to sell it and get something newer that I can enjoy more often. With a little work, this could be a great daily rider. I didn't get to ride it as much as I wanted to, but it never left me stranded. I will include all parts I have lying around: a new set of piston rings; a really nice seat; some misc wiring, gauge, and body parts; original working tail light; center kick stand; service manual; and anything else I may have for the bike. Payment is due within 7 days after purchase. Buyer is responsible for any shipping or local pickup. I have the bike listed for sale locally and reserve the right to end this listing at any time. The title is clear and in my name. The tag is good until March 2014. Feel free to ask any questions. I can send more pics upon request. I have done my best to describe this bike in detail and have not knowingly omitted anything.
