Vehicle Detail
This is a 1984 Porsche 928S. It has a few issues but at this age that's not to be unexpected. The engine is strong, the transmission is strong. Starts right up every time. New battery within the last 12 months. New alternator within the last 6 months. Timing belt changed around 136,000 miles. New tires in the last 18 months (less than 4,000 miles on them). Interior is very good. It's a good sports car, particularly for someone that will put the time and effort into it. Needs repair: Speedometer works, mile-o-meter does not. Car has been on 146,258 for the last 3 years. I have two 928's, this one and a 1988S4. They are my 3rd and 4th vehicles respectively. I estimate that I've driven the 1984 "S" approximately 8,000 miles since purchasing it in 2009. I bought the 1988 S4 after the "S" and began to drive the 1984S less. Leaks oil, although not much, also leaks transmission fluid. The leaks show on the pad in the garage but I haven't had to replace the pad in the 4 years since I bought it. As I mentioned, the fuses sometimes will lose contact causing the windows to work inconsistently. Could be the switches as well. I've been putting my time into the 1988 S4 and just have not gotten to the 1984 S yet.
