Vehicle Detail

Black, 207,500 mi, turbo, 2.4L, original owner, rare special order 6 spd. manual transmission, all highway miles, recent valve job, brakes, tires, battery, excellent in and out, daily driver that needs minor work (front passenger side spring seat, slow leak in clutch control cylinder) to be perfect. Updated 12/13:  miles are now at 207,800. To address various questions I have received: The car is being sold as is without any representations or warranties as to its reliability.  The car has been well taken care of and served me well but it does have 207,800 miles on it with mostly original parts that can and will go and it is priced accordingly.  There is no problem with the car's seats, the problem I reference is with the front passenger side spring seat.  I am not a mechanic but the car makes a clunking, creaking sound in the front passener side whenever going over bumps.  It is a well reported problem with these cars that the spring seats tend to need replacement but I have not had it diagnosed nor received any estimate for its repair.  I've driven it daily in this condition for months without a problem (it does not effect the operation of the vehicle and is not heard while driving flat highway which I mostly drive but it can be an annoying clunking sound if driving city streets). The clutch control cylinder or slave cylinder as it is known has had a slow leak for years.  This causes hydraulic fluid (brake fluid) to drip from the transmission case as the cylinder is located inside.  As the repair involves taking apart the housing to get at it (a good amount of labor), I always figured I would wait until the clutch needed replacing before doing the work and then do both at the same time.  However, the original clutch is still going strong.  The brakes and the clutch share a common hydraulic line on this car and, as such, when the fluid leaks and gets low enough, a red warning message comes up telling you that the brake fluid is low.  Once that message comes up, you need to top off the brake fluid.  It seems to leak more in the summer, less in the winter and I would have to top off as often as every week or two to as little as every month or two (DOT 4 brake fluid). The valve job was at approximately 160K miles; an exhaust valve failed; that was replaced, the rest were machined as was the head and new seats, seals installed.    There are no major cosmetic problems, just minor dings, scratches here and there indicative of a 7 year old car. Hope this helps, thanks for looking and feel free to ask any additional questions.
