Up for sale is a Honda 50 Mini Trail! It has been part of my collection for years and I am ready to let it go for the next person to enjoy. A little about this bike: when I got it from a family friend it had been in their father's garage for 40 years without being touched. As the story goes it was purchased brand new in 71 by their father for Christmas the following summer, one of the sisters broke her wrist while riding the mini 50, Dad got mad and stuck it in the rafters of the garage so the the kids couldn't sneak it out. That is where it remained for the next 40 years. As the garage was being cleaned out I was giving the call to come take a look at this bike, of course, I had to have it. It is about the most original I have ever seen after some horse trading the mini 50 was mine. I took it home blew it off cleaned it up a bit and couldn't resist putting some fresh gas in it. To my amazement it lit off on the second kick! I enjoyed cruising it around for a couple weeks, reliving great childhood memories before draining the fuel and parking it in my shop as sort of a conversation piece. Here is what I know: it is completely original as far as I know. The vin number is Z50A-328161 it is a 1971 the color is candy ruby red/white. still has the original Nitto tires. The warning labels on the tank and side are still on, which was usually the first to go to make them look cooler. The gas tank is as shiny and clean on the inside as the day it was bought. The seat is still the original split seam, gold lettered Honda. it does have your usual chips and scratches and to me this is the character of a loved Mini 50 untouched and in it's original paint, which is quite exceptional. There was some red touch up done on the headlight it was like this when I got it, probably an attempt of one of the kids to hide it from Dad. Note: there is no title with this item.
