THANKS. 1961 INTERNATIONAL METRO MITE MILK TRUCK STEP VAN These are very cool milk trucks, and this metro is in very good condition for the year. These are becoming very popular with rodders and make great rolling advertisement vehicles, mobile stores, food trucks, ice cream truck or mobile studios They also look cool chopped or lowered. There is room in the back to stand up and put living quarters, a harley, cooking equipment, speed parts, or? These metro's are rare to find, especially one that runs great with no rust. Here are all the details and more pics in the photobucket link. Also, a video of the van running is on the photobucket link. DRIVETRAIN The metro has what looks to be the original four cylinder with 4-speed on the column. The motor runs really nice and does not smoke at all. It has no abnormal noises. Transmission and clutch work nicely. The engine is very clean. I know the headlights/tailights work and I believe the turn signals work but will have to double check that. Brakes work fine. Tires were new, but are weather cracked from sitting for a few years. Would be fine around town but I wouldn't recommend a lot of highway driving on them. They are 15" and fairly inexpensive new. Wheels are in good shape. I have driven this van up to about 45 mph and the frontend feels fine but I did not drive it at higher highway speeds. Fuel pump is new. It may need usual oil/lube and basic maintenance/tuning/ but needs no major mechanical work that I have could find. VIDEO OF ENGINE RUNNING http://s942.photobucket.com/user/tutheck5/media/1961%20metro%20mite/VID_20131024_120412_323_zps9d714b8d.mp4.html?sort=3&o=1 BODY The body is really in nice shape for an un-restored 52 year old vehicle. There is no rust and I've been all over it and underneath it. It has side plywood "billboard" panels that were added and there is no rust under them. Rear doors had wood on them at some point and it came off. Thats just surface rust in the pics. Both side doors slide open as they should and rear doors work as they should. The total mileage on the van is probably pretty low for the year of vehicle. Many of these vans were just used in town so they didn't get a lot of miles on them. Grille still looks nice. Glass is in good shape. INTERIOR Not much to say here. The seat is nice and gauge area. Has ok carpet in the back. DVD player and speakers looks newer but it doesn't come on so it must need a fuse or something. Interior metal paneling is in nice shape. Either way, they get lots of attention and are roomy enough to use for a variety of things. Powered by eBay Turbo Lister The free listing tool.
