Vehicle Detail
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY. I initially set this auction up to sell the engine but since I don't have tools or equipment to remove an engine, the car comes with it. Auction is for the ENTIRE 1990 Camaro with everything you see pictured. This is a perfect car for a handy man or person with some time to spend on a classic machine. I used this car primarily for racing but it is street legal and I have commuted with it in the past (50 miles each way for 7 years through all weather) and had no trouble out of it. The car needs work and is being sold AS IS. The body is in decent shape but it sat outside in winter weather for a couple years before I bought this house so the frame has some serious rust issues. I have been to a few frame shops and they say it is definitely repariable. You can stop by and hear it run if you are in the neighborhood (Near 131th and Western, South Suburb of Chicago). Why am I selling everything? Because I have a new wife and she said the toys must go. No more fast cars so it’s all gotta’ go. I have all the manuals for the car, everything you want to know about the Camaro and then some. This engine is in great condition and has a lot of new parts. Car purrs like a kitten. The engine is "cherry" and has NEVER failed on this car. Acceleration is unbelievable. I was originally just going to sell the engine but wife said, “EVERYTHING MUST GO”!! No reserve price. Car: - 1990 Camaro with rebuilt 305 V8. We think is makes 400hp at 4000rpm but I don’t have papers to prove it. - Rebuild engine had aluminum heads, aluminum intake manifold, NEW TBI injector system with new parts, dual cooling fan. - Burns 89 octane or better (I have run it on alcohol as well) - Car is pre-1995 so does not need to pass Illinois emission test though it always passed clean. Bad news: - The frame is rusted through on the rear passenger side from sitting outside. I would not drive it more than a cpouple miles. If you take it any farther, I would strongly reccomend having it transported on a flat bed. - The driver’s door latch is broken. Door get stuck - The windshield wiper switch needs to be replaced. - Engine temp switch needs replacement (engine cooling fan doesn’t engage automatically, has to be manually turned on). - No rear seats. Good News: - Everything pictures goes with the car!!! This includes nitrous bottle, TWO new rims, timing kit, socket set, new set of brakes front and back, grease gun, TWO extra computers, TWO brand new aluminum wheels, A/C recharge kit (A/C works), mechanic grade floor jack. - Custom speedometer (150mph instead of standard 120mph). I have had this machine over 160mph from time to time. - Custom computer chip allows you to go over 120mph without engine shutting down. - Rebuild engine had aluminum heads, aluminum intake manifold, NEW TBI injector system with new parts, dual cooling fan. - Custom dual cooling fans for the engine. Engine runs unbelievably cool for a Camaro, a car that is generally well known for overheating issues. - A/C works and has been switched over to R-134a and compressor has been replaced. - Tires are good. - Hood is new with functional hood scoop - All books and manuals for the vehicle (as pictures) go with the car. These can NOT be purchased any more. The manuals alone are worth money. - Car title included. - Code-check tool and manual. - Recently replaced front brakes, calipers, bearings, alternator and front end hardware. - I am throwing in an extra brake caliper (new) and brake shoes for front and back along with a set of bearings. - Two new in-the-box equalizers and a 12-in bass woffer I was going to mount in the back - A full bottle of NOS with the wiring and hose kit. I pulled it out after I stopped racing. Car is worth putting some work into. The extras alone are more than worth the starting price. The frame needs to be welded and reworked. After that you will have a great machine with superior handling ro put the engine in yoru car, prt this one out and recover your investment with interest! I am also throwing in a new 5A Battewry Charger and a 750W power inverrter. PayPal preferred but cash is king. No checks. We suggest you take a look at the car first, fire it up and listen to the engine before you take possession. NOTE: If initial payment of $200.00 is not received within 3 days of winning the auction, I will relist the item. ALL SALES are FINAL. CAR SOLD “AS IS” with no warrantee. Even if you decided to part out the car you would make more than what your initial bid here. This car has got to go! Easy 0% financing can be arranged on buy-it-now.
