Vehicle Detail

This is a one owner, barn find, 1925 Chevrolet Superior K Touring Car. The car has always been in a garage, until I brought it out last week! The car was originally owned by the local Chevrolet dealer nearby, and was only driven on special occasions. The gentleman that owned the car passed away while the car was being prepped for restoration, and has been in the same garage for over 60 years! As you can see from the photos, all of the structural wood (including the wheel spokes) is in solid, dry condition. The two-piece windshield is solid, although dusty, and the only glass in the car! All five wheels are in good shape, too. The bumpers, (an option on the 1925 Superior K) are in the back seat area, as is the spare wheel and tire. The running boards are solid as well. Mechanically, the drive-train, chassis, and suspension, are unmolested and original. The engine is correct to the car, and turns over freely. No attempt has been made the start the car, although I feel that with proper preparation, it probably would! There is still an original six-volt battery in the battery box! The sheet metal on the car is amazingly straight, with only a few minor fixes noted. The only items missing, as far as I can see, are the top irons, lenses for the cowl and tail lights, and seat springs. these were likely removed and stored elsewhere. Since the principal owner is long since deceased, as well as the gentleman who started the restoration, I was not able to find them. All in all, a very solid original car, worthy of a quality restoration. Payment is expected within 24 hours of auction closing, with a $500.00 deposit due at auctions end. A very reasonable reserve should be met quickly, as I would like to see this car back in good hands as soon as possible, to avoid any deterioration to the car. I will gladly assist with loading of the car, (it steers surprisingly easy!) and temporary covered storage is available for 30 days, if needed, to arrange transportation. All shipping and transportation costs are the responsibility of the buyer. Car is sold with bill of sale only, no warranties are either expressed or implied.(E-bay listing requirements do not have bill of sale options, so "Clear" was the only option available.) This is an as is, where is auction, lower 48 only, please. I reserve the right to end auction early, as car is for sale locally, also. If you have further questions, feel free to call me at: (919)-770-4931 at any reasonable hour. Thanks for your consideration of this rare piece of automotive history!
