DES PLAINES HONDA MOTORCYCLES. You are bidding on a 1978 Honda CB400 Hondamatic Hawk with only 14940 miles. The bike runs and rides. We took this bike in on trade and our service department doesn't have the time to work on this bike to make it 100% so this might be a great bike for you if your looking for a winter project, parts bike or with a little work you can have a nice inexpensive classic. The bike appears to be complete. Some of the known issues are as follows: The gear position sensor(see pic) needs to be replaced. It works on and off at times. If it's off, the bike won't start if you are just starting the bike(it won't start because the bikes neutral light doesn't come on), if the bike is running, you won't have a problem except for the neutral light not lighting up. If you try to start the bike and the neutral light isn't on, jiggle the sensor and it will then go on and you can start the bike. the gas tank appears to be rust-free, the tires need to be replaced, there are some scratches here and there, there is a small dent in the front fender, levers need to be replaced, the seat has a rip in it, the left rear turn signal lens is cracked, the right mirror is missing and the bike needs fresh fluids. For purchases over $1000.00 a deposit of $1000.00 is due within 3 days of notification of a winning bid, with the balance due within 7 days of notification.
