I'm LISTING THIS TRUCK FOR MY DAD : I bought this rare truck a year ago as one of my swap diesel projects . My plan was to swap this Comanche 4 cylinder 2.1 L factory Turbo diesel drivetrain into my '88 Jeep Wrangler since all the parts are almost the same and they will awap without too much work , tranny is the same , 5 speed ax5 (but with diesel input shaft) , etc . , but my plans have changed and I no longer have the time to do it . Engine is Renault J8S -234 cc , also found in Cherokee's diesel or Winnebago motorhomes from the same era . Truck has working full gauges cluster and a factory boost gauge also . The Comanche starts every time and it sounds great , runs and drives well , but the body has a lot of rust as seen in the pics , and it will be more practical to find a good Comanche shell and swap it or put also a Wrangler body on it . The engine has 265,800 miles , head was rebuilt 100, 000 ago , and many parts were replace then like water pump , vacuum pump , timing belt , clutch , turbo , etc . by previous owner . Comanche rear is one ton metric ( heavy duty ) dana 44 . I also have a brand new NOS complete engine and an used head for sale and many new NOS parts for sale , priority to buy it will be given first to the Jeep buyer , if not , it will be listed at a later day .
