Vehicle Detail
Your are bidding on my personally owned 2001 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 Cabriolet with 109,500 "Actual Miles". I'm offering the car to the highest bidder with NO RESERVE, highest bid wins the car. Please read below for specific details about the car. I previously sold my heavily modified Land Rover Discover on eBay, so check my feedback if you have any questions. I write a very detailed description so there are no surprises... I consider the car to be in "Average" condition based on the year and miles on the car. It's not a 200 point perfect Porsche, but def worth what I need to get out of it and I'm prepared to take a loss. History I have owned the car for about 3 months, and it has basically been in the repair shop getting an extensive amount of service work shortly after I received the car. I bought the car on eBay for $14,250 plus shipping, and it was by all means the worst possible eBay experience. I bought the car from a deceptive seller who did not disclose any of the extensive things the car needed. I was basically stuck with a mess and spent $14k getting the car up to par as it is today. I have all the receipts, invoices, and documentation for all the work done on the car. I have done extensive research on the ownership history of the car, its always been a fair weather car. It started life in the northern states and was only driven during the summer months. The car changed hands a few times and I bought it from a guy in North Carolina who could not afford to service the car and grossly misrepresented its mechanical condition in order to sell it, and I was the guy lucky enough to drop a ton of money to repair his lack of service. The Exterior The exterior of the car shows very well, there is nothing that jumps out as major flaw. No real door dings or anything noticeable that gets your attention. The car did have some minor damage to the passenger front fender at some point, the fender was repaired and the light was replaced. There was absolutely no frame damage to the car, we had the front bumper assembly off the car and it is 100% intact and all factory labels and tags are attached to the car. Overall the exterior of the car is in average condition and looks fine, age and mileage appropriate. The Interior The interior of the car is also in average condition and shows average wear for the year and mileage on the car. The car was a non-smoker vehicle and there is no rips, tears, burns, or damage to the carpets, leather or dash board. The dash is leather wrapped which was a factory option that also included the Porsche Crest in both the front seat backs. The car has the optional wood grain around the stereo, steering wheel, and emergency brake lever and there is some cracking and wear around the stereo and steering wheel. I planned on buying the black stereo trim, brake handle and replacing the steering wheel but just spent too much on getting the mechanicals sorted out. The Porsche also has a Pioneer Double DIN 6.5" touch screen TV/DVD/CD Player with iPod/iPhone plug in and an AUX input. There is also aftermarket speakers and amplifier in the car. Overall the interior is like I said, in Average condition. The Top The canvas convertible top is in great shape and has the vinyl back window. The power top function works properly and functions without any problems or issues. The factory hardtop is included with the sale, but it is black in color which actually looks very nice on the car although its a different color. Mechanically There is no doubt I could write a novel on all the mechanical work done over the last 45 days to the car, the car is a completely different car today then when I got it. As I stated, I spent $14k-$15k making sure the car was mechanically solid, as was not the case when I got it. So here is what has been done to the car.... The motor and transmission were pulled out of the car. The previous owner advertised the car with a slipping 3rd gear, in fact 3rd and 4th were out. The factory tiptronic is near bullet proof and is the same transmission used in the 911 Turbo's, typically its a faulty transmission computer which is a $300 fix. This was not the case, the previous owner continued to drive the car with the transmission not fully operational killing the transmission and the transmission computer. When the motor and transmission were pulled out the car got a used tiptronic transmission with 64k miles and a new transmission computer from Specialized German in Rancho Cordova, Ca. I have a laundry list of new parts from Pelican Parts that includes all new seals (upper and lower intake, exhaust gaskets, spark plug tube seals and so on), Air Oil Separator, several hundred dollars in factory torque to yield bolts for valve covers, fly wheel bolts and more, a new Pelican Parts IMS bearing, Transmission Filter, Transmission pan gasket, water pump, all new spark plugs, new serpentine belt, and even a new battery... I'm sure I have missed several things. The motor and original transmission were disassembled and the motor was completely torn down and re-sealed with Loc-Tite 5900, all the new gaskets were installed, new plugs, new water pump, new air oil separator, new vacuum lines, value covers removed and resealed, new sump pump cover and resealed, and new IMS bearing installed. Once the motor was completely done, the used transmission was mated to the freshly done motor and re-installed into the car. Once the motor and transmission were back in the car, the a/c was serviced, the car got a new battery, and it also got new power steering pressure line from the power steering pump to the lines that run to the front of the car. The car has all new coolant, Fresh Mobil 1 Fully Synthetic Oil, fresh ZF Fluid in the transmission, new trans filter and new freon. Like I said, Im positive I'm missing several things, but you get the just of what was done to the car. Remaining Flaws The wheels are actually factory chrome, however the drivers rear wheel started chipping chrome so I had them "Plasti-Dip" painted black which can be peeled right off and back to chrome. There is an intermittent check engine light due to a bad sensor, the light is on more times than off but it does go off from time to time. The ABS and PSM light will also come on intermittently, I was told its a failing brake light switch. The car is missing 2 center caps for the wheels but I will have them replaced before the end of the auction, the tires could likely use a balance too. Im sure I have overlooked a few minor cosmetic flaws but nothing serious. Overall Overall I have spent as much as I can spend to get the car back to solid mechanical condition. I would not hesitate to drive the car to California tomorrow if I needed to go right now. It's not a 200 point perfect Porsche, but she is a reliable daily driver or weekend joy ride that needs nothing serious right now. Taking into consideration the amount of money spent on the mechanical repairs vs. the minor things that needed and minor cosmetics that need attention I think the car balances out to an "Average" condition vehicle considering the age and low mileage for the year. The NADA and Kelley Blue Book value the car in the $24k-$25k range, I have way more in it than that... NO RESERVE, HIGHEST BID WINS! Payment I prefer a bank to bank wire transfer for payment or you can pay cash in person. I require a 20% non-refundable deposit payable within 36 hours of the close of the sale by bank to bank wire transfer or cash in person. I owe a little bit of money on the car to my local credit union, and will need 48-72 hours to get the title once the financial portion of the transaction is complete. The State of Florida has electronic liens that take 48 hours to release once a wire transfer for the transaction has been completed. The above terms are not negotiable, I'm a local business owner, home owner, and high profile person in my community. My reputation and business reputation are worth more to me than selling my car so if you cant agree to the above terms please dont bother. If you have any questions, please feel free to call me at (850) 63O-2827
