1956 Pontiac Custom Catalina Star Chief coupe The title says this is a 1956 Pontiac Catalina coupe. My father bought it used in 1972. It was not our family car. Dad bought it, drove it straight into storage & it has not been out of storage since 1972. The title says its serial # is P856H 423 56 and its model # is 856H. What we can observe: 2 door coupe Hardtop V-8; automatic transmission Original, two-tone paint (cream & tan -- or it may be cream & pink; see photos) Interior tan & cream (see photos) Dash says “Star Chief” and so does an exterior panel (see photos). Has clock & radio Lots of chrome inside & out – all looks to be intact Mileage: 67,320.6 miles (see photo). Rust hole on front passenger side below headlamp (see photo) Looks like everything that should be under the hood is there. We know nothing about the Pontiac’s mechanical status – we are not mechanics. It looks like all the parts are intact (see photos). No, we have not tried to start it, assuming that since we are not mechanics or experts we might cause harm. This car has been sitting inside for 40 years. Since we are not planning to keep it, restore it or drive it we offer it “as is”. We prefer to leave the technical aspects to experienced buyers who will know how to deal with the mechanics of an old car that has been sitting for decades as an untouched original. Photos were taken in a country garage without electricity. The car is covered with dust . We did not want to risk scratching the finish by wiping it. There is no running water there to wash it either. Buyer assumes shipping or pick up; owner is in NE Ohio; vehicle is in SE Ohio, about a 2-1/2 hour drive south from the owner.
