Vehicle Detail

NOTE: THIS CORVETTE RESIDES IN THE KANSAS CITY AREA BUT I CURRENTLY HAVE IT IN THE DALLAS/FT. WORTH AREA WHERE IT CAN BE SEEN, INSPECTED AND DRIVEN. 1967 Corvette Convertible Color: Rally Red Interior: black leather Convertible Top: white Engine: 327 CID w/ Holley 4bbl Transmission: 4 speed manual Differential: limited slip Optional Equipment: side exhaust, 4 speed transmission, leather interior, radio, tinted windshield General Information:This 1967 Corvette convertible runs and drives nicely. Much restoration and rebuilding has been done to bring the chassis up to like new condition. It has a fairly new soft top in good condition including the isinglass (plastic) rear window. The engine runs very well and the transmission shifts like it is new. The paint is bright and shiny, looks nice, and is an older repaint with a some issues typical of a vintage Corvette, i.e. stress cracks and blemishes. The hood is the only item easily recognized as different from original. It is an aftermarket hood that resembles an L-88 big block hood of 1968 vintage. Also, surprisingly, the clock works and has not been rebuilt and converted to a quartz movement! Below is a list of some of the parts that have been replaced. The list is seemingly endless as nearly everything that wears has been renewed. Restoration work:The body has been off the frame and it has been stripped and painted black. The entire interior has been replaced using high quality OEM type replacements including genuine leather seat coverings. The windshield has been replaced. All of the rubber weatherstrips have been replaced. The engine runs good, was detailed and most of the bolt on items replaced. It is two or three years newer than the model year. The transmission, differential, front suspension, rear suspension, steering, brakes etc. have all been rebuilt. A complete OEM factory side exhaust has been installed. The headlights and associated pivot assemblies have been reworked. The gas tank has been replaced. The spare tire carrier assembly is complete and has been repaired. These are missing on many Corvettes. The vehicles front clip (fenders, grill surround panels etc.) still retains its original OEM parts. Many, many early Corvettes have had the front end panels replaced with poor quality one-piece aftermarket units. All 4 bumpers have been rechromed and are outstanding because prior to plating they were straight and not rusty or pitted. Remaining chrome has been replaced or polished. All the stainless steel trim has been polished. The window regulators and glass slide channels have been rebuilt or replaced. The transmission shift lever assembly has been replaced with a new OEM unit. The Holley 4 barrel carburetor was a rebuilt unit sometime back, but I replaced the needles and seats and the accelerator pump last month. The gasoline gauge does not work (I forgot to get it on the list of things to do) and I haven't had time to repair it. The heater plenum housing was cracked and was not put in the car. It all depends on the new owners desire or their ultimate goal for the car. This car is a go anywhere, drive anywhere car that looks and drives very nice. If it were to be repainted it would really stand out, yet it is very good looking just the way it is and the scrapes, scratches and stress cracks not only give it its own distinctive personality, the owner can drive and have fun with it without fear of damaging a new paint job. If a potential new owner just can’t live without fresh new paint on this Corvette I can assist in arranging for this to be done to whatever level desired. This will require some in-depth one-on-one discussion to insure that no one ends up dissatisfied. I have been retired for some time, but owned a classic car restoration shop for many years and still do much of this work on my own cars and maintain many restoration related contacts. My antique, classic and muscle car involvement has spanned 5 decades. Price:C-2 Corvette prices (particularly 1967's) can hit the stratosphere when done to national show standards. Of all of the C-2 years of 1963 through 1967, the 1967 (the year of this Corvette for sale) are generally considered the “best of the best”, and this popularity is reflected in typical asking and selling prices nationwide. This Corvette is close to being all restored, with only a few minor things needing attention beyond the paint. Excluding those “1 of 1” rare examples as well as the “the skies the limit/no expense spared” types, a car similar to this but with fresh paint can fetch in excess of 60K. This car can have a new owner for cash at $38,000. A price that is not only very good, but there is perhaps even room for a new owner to make a quick profit with little work, should the purchaser be so inclined. For anyone that feels they must beat a seller down dramatically…..well then, in that case, the asking price is $60K, but highly negotiable! Additional, but unrelated:Although I am not a dealer I also have available for sale several other collectible vehicles. Separate spec sheets are available for each of these cars. They are a body off restored 1963 ½ Ford Galaxie 500 XL w/ 427 CID dual 4 barrels, a restored (w/ exception of paint) 1931 Slant Windshield Model A Ford Town Sedan, a fully restored 1912 Model T Ford Touring car (lots of brass & leather).
