Vehicle Detail

For sale is a 1967 VW Beetle which runs well and would make an excellent running and driving VW classic project. I purchased this little Beetle from a family which owned it for more than thirty years with each of the children using it for school and college transportation. I am told the engine was replaced in 2004 and the car was parked in 2007 and it sat in non running condition until I purchased it in early 2013. I drained the old gas , put a battery in it ,put some brake parts, new plugs and points and it fired right up. The windshield was cracked so I had a new windshield installed and purchased some odds and ends for the car. The overall condition is good as the floor pan is rust free which is evidenced by the photos taken from under the car. All of the windows work and are clear without cracks etc. The interior is in average condition. It is functional but the drivers seat has some tears. The steering ,brakes, etc all work well. The back seat is in good shape. The body will need a paint job as you can see some chips in the paint in the photos. The tires have many miles left and will not need replacement anytime soon. The bumpers are the original ones and the chrome is in good shape. I took photos from underneath the car so you can see that the barrels on the engine are relatively new. I was told the engine has a little over 5,000 miles on it since it was replaced in 2004. The lights and signals work but the horn does not and the gas gauge does not and I don't know why but I did fill the gas tank up for the new buyer. The car will need some small dents and scratches fixed if a new paint job is required. The basic car is a very good one and the reserve price is quite reasonable considering this rare year of classic VW. The buyer is responsible for arranging transportation but I will help load or be available as needed. The car is expected to be picked up within two weeks following the conclusion of the sale. If longer storage is necessary an arrangement will have to be made in advance. a PayPal deposit of $500 is required within 48 hours of the conclusion of the auction with the remainder paid by cash, wire transfer or cashiers check within 7 days of auction conclusion. Thank you for bidding on this great old VW. On Oct-31-13 at 19:07:30 PDT, seller added the following information:For those EBAYERS who have asked about the runability of the VW I have made an appointment for the car to get an extensive carb rebuild and tune by a local VW shop. After this which will be completed this coming Monday afternoon the car should satisfy most any driving requirements. Thank You
