For sale is my much loved 1979 Toyota SR5 pickup. I bought this truck in Alaska about 5 months ago, drove it around there, and now back home to Minnesota. It has never stranded me or let me down and I wouldn’t hesitate to turn around and go back. I didn’t have a single mechanical failure in six days and 3,400 miles of driving. The original owner had the truck shipped to Hawaii and back to Alaska, and also had it at the University of Washington so it has been all over the place. When I bought the truck it had a bad master cylinder and the rear slave cylinders were leaking, so I replaced them. At that time I also replaced the rear brake pads. The cap, rotor, spark plug wires and spark plugs are also new as of a couple of months ago. It has a brand new air filter and fuel filter as of yesterday. The truck also has a brand new windshield and gasket. Odometer reads 14,000 but actual mileage is unknown. The engine is stock, a carbureted 20R 4 cylinder. It has a 5 speed manual transmission. This is a 2wd truck. The brakes are discs in the front and drums in the back. It does have power brakes. The frame is in great shape without any rust through or cracks. The interior is in pretty good shape, save for the drivers’ seat as shown. Everything works except the fuel gauge reads totally empty once it is about half full. There are two adjustable cab vents. Both windows crank down and there is a sliding rear window. The exterior is mostly rust-free except the areas shown in the photos. There is a bit of rust on the drivers’ door, some on the top of the passenger door (?) and a little on the tailgate and bed sides. The floor of the bed has some holes rusted through it unfortunately. The floor of the cab is in great condition and there isn’t rust in the fender wells etc. A $200 paypal deposit is expected at time of sale. The rest of the payment can be made in cash at the time of vehicle pickup. Any shipping needs to be arranged and paid for by the buyer. Sold as is, where is.
