Vehicle Detail
1950 Chevrolet pickup truck. Short bed, ½ ton with a 216 six cylinder, 3 speed It has 4 new tires, restored brakes and lines, repacked wheel bearings, cleaned out fuel system, rebuilt carb, new speedometer, headliner, glove box liner, new 6 volt battery and cables, re-upholstered seat, and more. It runs and drives great! The bed floor has been upgraded with a steel sheet over plywood and new bed bolts. It has had new cab floor pans, transmission cover, toe board panels, and both front body mounts installed. The rear floor and rear body mounts are original and solid. It will need the cab corners eventually because they both have rust. The original body has dents, dings, and scrapes but it’s pretty solid. The paint is faded and checked from age (it’s not the original paint but it’s at least 30 years old). The driver’s door glass has a crack, the other glass is original and good. It has been well maintained mechanically all these years. It starts right up. It runs smooth and quiet. It has a good exhaust. The windshield wipers work. The heater works. The horn works. The emergency brake works. The lights work. It has the correct spare wheel and what appears to be the original spare tire under the back. All the wheels and hub caps are original. It has an added turn signal switch on the column but the wires are not hooked up to the lights. This truck is a great weekend driver for trips to town, but it is not show quality. I bought this truck to be a weekend driver, not a show truck. I wanted the look of a farmer’s old truck from the early 1950s. It is the best driving original 50s truck that I have ever driven. This truck is a blast to get out and ride in on the weekend. Clear Title in Hand.
