This is a very nice 1949 Triumph Speed Twin. I purchased it from an older gentleman that purchased it in New Zealand 6 years ago and had it imported to the US. While in NZ the motor and transmission were rebuilt, it has not had gas in it since that time and has not been started. It does kick over and has great compression. He offered to put gas in it and start it for me, but I felt it was better to start it properly. the frame number is TF 28666, which makes it a 1949, the engine number is 5t 15020 NA which is a 1951, the NA means it has a sprung hub. This is not a numbers matching bike, but is very complete and a very nice example of an early triumph. The bike is basically and older restoration. the paint his pretty, but has a few chips and some cracking. All the bright work/ chrome is in very good shape and is nice and shiny, the motor has been polished and looks great. the tank has a nice parcel grid. seat is in good shape. tires are good and clean. Rear wheel has a sprung hub and is complete. Rear fender has some welding on the front under seat, not super noticeable. All and all a very nice speed twin to use and enjoy as is, Better than most pre unit triumphs in the US. I own a few triumphs and would love to keep them all, but especially would love to keep this one, she is a nice clean old girl . I have the paperwork from New Zealand will include that and a bill of sale, for and additional $250 I can register it in New Hampshire.
