Vehicle Detail
1974 Dodge Charger SE Sports Hardtop Coupe Number MatchingV.I.N. # WP29G4A206805 The PLUM CRAZY exterior is in wonderful shape, Hideaway Headlights, with the Power Bulge Hood (hood is badged as a 340 MAGNUM), Hood Pins, Front Chin Spoiler, Rear Deck Lid Spoiler, R/T Rear Valence with Dual Exhaust Cutouts, Charger Side Stripes, all original body panels have an excellent fit, gaps and alignment. One repaint was performed approximately 15 years ago, and was done right! The car is solid top to bottom, the paint was applied evenly and holds a nice shine. Minor flaws and imperfections can be found upon close inspection, such as a few dings and light scratches and chips in the paint, the hood has two spots where the clear coat has lifted off bringing the blacked out area of the hood with it. The purple base coat in those areas is fine. All stainless trim, moldings, and chrome are in very good condition. The fifteen inch Rally Wheels are in great shape, with later period radial white letter tires that show very little ware. The undercarriage of the car has surface rust, no rot. The front and rear bumpers are very nice, the rear bumper is new with the Charger RT taillight bezel. All of the glass is clear. The car shows and presents itself well and gets a lot of compliments and turns many heads every time it leaves my garage. The black / gray bucket seat interior, center console shift, headliner, carpet, are all in great shape. The dash is in great condition with the exception of two spots where there are two spots where it got tapped by something causing a minor crack. With the Rallye Gauge Instrument Cluster, Tuff Wheel, and the odometer reading 83,004 original miles. To the best of my knowledge every switch, knob and lever operates correctly. All lights, directionals, gauges, horn, wipers, A/C & heater are functioning. The aftermarket stereo is not working, the original radio I do not have. The drivetrain consists of a 318 cu in (5.2 ltr) 2bbl V-8, Dual Exhaust, with a Three Speed TorqueFlite Automatic Transmission (rebuilt less than three thousand miles ago) and a Sure - Grip rear end with an unknown gear ratio. The car starts, runs and drives and shifts smoothly through the gears easily and feels firm and solid on the road without squeaks or rattles. See the picture I took while today driving down Route 16 at 70-MPH in beautiful New Hampshire. The car has the usual minor old car fluid seepage, it needs a valve cover gasket.Very enjoyable to drive and very dependable, it goes down the road as it should, simply turn the key and go. There is an absence of what appears to be, two fender tags, that were removed long before I purchased the car ( 2-fender tags are missing) I have a free and clear New Hampshire Antique Title in my possession. Please keep in mind that these are my personal opinions and observations and they may differ from your own.
