WELCOME TO CJS INVESTMENTS & AUTO SALES I purchased this vehicle to fix up several years ago and find I don't have time to take it out much so IM SELLING THIS 1990 JEEP WRANGLER 4.2 liter with Ax 15 tranny 4x4, 20 gal poly fuel tank. Includes hardtop and full doors. All dash gauges work and new gauge lights were installed last year.I also had some exterior stainless steal and aluminum fabrication added on to the body of the jeep and under carerage ground effects with led lighting. This makes heads turn all over town. The Wrangler has been earmarked as an efficient mini SUV. The Wrangler happens to be a descendant of the Jeep vehicle that prevailed during the Second World War. Background of the Jeep WranglerThe first prototype of Jeep Wrangler came in the American Army Quartermaster Corps (or QMC), Pennsylvania. This was followed by 2 other rival prototypes that were produced by then Ford and Willys-Overland.During the Second World War, it turned absolutely clear that the US was ultimately going to get involved into the war that was raging around Europe. So the then U.S. Army requested 135 companies for some working prototypes with 4 wheel drive scouting car. Only 2 companies responded immediately to that request.The two companies were The American Bantam Car and the Willys-Overland. The US Army set what appeared to be like an unfeasible deadline of less than 50 days to provide it with a workable prototype. But both Willys and American Bantam Car failed. But the latter one managed to bring in a freelance car designer from Detroit. The glorious journey of Jeep Wrangler The journey started back in 1987, with the YJ that was built in Ontario, Canada. The vehicle continued being produced at that till 1992. After that period of time, its production was being handled by the Toledo North Assembly plant of Jeep. The interesting thing here is that, despite the fact that these vehicles were being produced within Canada for a couple of years, they didn’t have the name – Wrangler. It was rather well known as the trim version of Chevrolet pickup. Models ranging from the 1987 to the mind 1990s were rather known as YK, whereas the ones from 1997 till 2006 were branded as the TJ versions. So you see the majority of the Wrangler fanatics around the globe being labeled as either YJ or TJ as specification of the model.The YJ however, came as a 2-door convertible and also as a 2-door truck. So, there were 3 special engine options, which included a 2.0, 4.0, and 4.2 liter engines. There were 4 transmission options too. The gas tanks were of 2 kinds (15 and 20-gallon tanks). The more recent Jeep Wrangler (1997- 2007) was labeled as the TJ and had 3 versions of engines as 2.4, 4.0 and 2.5 liter. The door options were pretty much the same as the YJ. There were 2 different transmission configured as 4-speed automatic, 5-speed manual, and a 6-speed manual. The TJ came with 19 gallon gas tank (something in between the gas tank capacity of its two predecessors). The KJ reigned from 2007 and this line involved two 2-door models and two 4-door models. Their 3.6 liter V6 engine comes with a 4 speed automatic and a 6 speed manual transmission option.
