Honda CB 1973 450 DOHC Low Miles Very Good Condition Please read entire description prior to bidding. This bike is in very nice condition for its age but does need a couple of minor things attended to. 1973 Honda CB 450 with 4188 original miles. This bike is almost completely original with only the spark plugs and petcock valve being changed and the battery missing. It still has the original tool kit. It was sitting in a garage for the last 31 years. The last time this bike was registered and inspected was in March of 1982. The tank was drained and cleaned, a new petcock installed, fuel lines cleaned, and carbs were removed and cleaned. A new set of plugs were installed and the bike fired up. It starts, idles, and revs but does have a little sputter to it. I did not rebuild the carbs only cleaned them and did notice that the vacuum piston on the left side sticks a little as does the needle valve. The brake fluid in the master cylinder was solidified from sitting so long. I cleaned it out but did not bleed the lines. I would think the master cylinder needs to be rebuilt as the “plunger” (not sure what it is actually called) does not spring back out thus the brake lever does not release. The electric start works fine but it does need a battery. High and low beams work, horn works, all turn signals light but do not blink (probably just needs a new flasher), tail light works, brake light works, instrument panel lights work, tires are like new (I would think original), the seat and backrest are like new with no rips, tears, or stains and are still very pliable, the chrome on the bike is in overall nice condition however, it can use a good polishing. This 1973 Honda CB 450 is in very nice condition considering it is over 40 years old and has sat untouched for 31 years. It’s not perfect and does need a little TLC but overall an awesome find. I have a clear title in hand so this bike can be transferred immediately upon auction end. Buyer is responsible to arrange pick up or shipping of this bike. Bike will not be released until paid in full and title transferred. I will be happy to hold bike for you if you are unable to pick up right away as long as it’s paid for in full. This is a no reserve auction so bike will absolutely sell to the highest bidder. Don’t wait to the last minute to place your bid.
