Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my restored, multiple show winning 1970 Monte Carlo by Chevrolet. 1970 was the first year for the Monte Carlo. You will be hard pressed to find a first generation Monte Carlo in this condition. This Monte Carlo is a factory A/C car but is not hooked up since it was not built to be a daily driven car. Along with the car comes the owner’s manual in A-1 shape, the 1970 Chevy Manufacturer's Specs in a 3 ring binder, the original 1970 Monte Carlo dealer sales brochure, and a bunch of Hot Wheels 1970 Monte Carlos that are still in the packaging and are painted just like mine. Don't miss out on an opportunity to own a true 70s muscle car. I have all the receipts for the work I had done since I have owned it. I am selling a few cars from my collection and this is one that has to go. Feel free to call/text my cell 4-1-2-two-six-six-0-5-6-2 or send me an email. -The last few pictures are from when it was originally purchased in 1990, the car was white. That was the original color. The next few were when it was painted in 99-00. **Won 2 ISCA (International Show Car Association) awards at the Pittsburgh PA World of Wheels show in January 2013** **Won an Award of Excellence in its class at the 2012 All GM Nationals in Carlisle, PA **Featured on the front cover and article write up in the National Monte Carlo Owners Association mini-magazine in 2012** Engine - 350 Small Block Chevy from 1976. - Upper end built by Mopar legend and engine builder Jim Pranis with all new parts - Mild cam, Edelbrock Performer Intake - Edelbrock #1407 Carburetor, 750cfm 4 Barrel - Edelbrock 14 inch round mat gray finish air cleaner - "Monte Carlo" Script painted blue on orange valve covers - Bored .030 over - Chrome timing chain cover - New AC Delco water pump - New Summit fuel pump - About 2,000 miles on motor - Newer Bosch battery - Gets about 12mpg in the city, 19mpg on the highway - Does have a small oil leak around the rear of the oil pan. From what I can see, it looks like the cork gasket was over tightened and will need replaced Transmission - TH350 - New TCI "Saturday Night Special" torque converter - New TCI flexplate - New TCI adjustable vacuum modulator - New Chrome Summit Racing pan and gasket - New transmission filter - Fresh transmission fluid - Only 5,800 miles on rebuilt transmission Exterior - Astro Blue Pearl with white racing stripes (Painted in dec 99-jan 00) - NO RUST (It's been meticulously restored) - Chrome has either been replaced with NOS items or re-chromed, so it's perfect - Original rally wheels have new trim rings and NOS GM Chevy center caps (center caps alone are $275 a piece, and are the real metal ones). The wheels have been pained to match the car along with the spare in the trunk. Rear wheels are 8", an inch wider than the front - New BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires all the way around Interior - Map Light on rear view mirror - Washer fluid indicator light, part of the Auxilary Light Package - New Custom Auto Sound head unit with 4 new Kenwood Speakers, AM/FM/Aux input - Period correct gauge cluster (mounted under the dash) with new SunPro water/oil/volt gauges. This gauge pod has a chrome surround with a wood grain insert to match the wood grain pattern on the dash. - New Sunpro SuperTach mounted under rear view mirror with no drilling into the dash pad, it has a blue LED shift light to match the car. - Headliner is the original but looks new; along with the door panels... they are original but look new - All gauges work. Speedo shows 27,600 but I know the car itself has 127,600 Trunk - Spotless - Matching painted front spare with original jack - Trunk mat new Other - New driveshaft to handle up to 800hp, built by Island Point Spring and Driveshaft - New OPGI gas tank and straps - New rear wheel cylinders and rear brakes - New brake master cylinder - New emergency brake cable - New front upper control arm bushings - Original rubber floor mats - Original 3 core radiator cleaned, inspected, and repainted by Schneider RadiatorOn Oct-07-13 at 15:14:15 PDT, seller added the following information: Up for sale is my restored, multiple show winning 1970 Monte Carlo by Chevrolet. 1970 was the first year for the Monte Carlo. The car must go and as much as I don't want to give the car away, I have the reserve set for far lower than the vehicle's worth. It has been appraised at $20,000 and would be willing to sell for around half of that.
