Up for auction with no reserve is a very rare 1978 Ford Mustang Cobra II Fastback. She is very original and has been well preserved over the years. This Cobra II is not a clone but an authentic version with her factory original window sticker still in great shape. This was the 75th Anniversary for Ford Motor Company and the last year of the Mustang II before the Fox body style. Very rare color combination of black on black with matching rear window louvers that look great. Under her hood everything is super and she comes totally loaded with all the options imaginable not only mechanically but cosmetically as well. Factory Ford 302 V8 motor with an automatic three speed transmission on the floor plus factory power rack and pinion steering, power disc brakes, rear sway bar, full racing gauges with factory tachometer and more. Her miles are low and original and she really is a nice classic survivor Mustang. Her body is extremely dry and this Cobra has only been in Arizona and Texas since new. The exterior paint has been repainted sometime ago and was of decent quality but shows her age overall. No major dents on any of the panels all around and she has her factory Cobra hood that looks great along with her correct fog lamps also. Rear wing deck lid spoiler and color coded matching exterior mirrors give this Cobra a very strong stance. Her upholstery is all original and looks great with just some minor wear. Over stuffed racing bucket seats with full center console with removable valet tray and arm rest with storage space makes the cockpit both sporty and comfortable. Factory original in dash quart clock that still keeps time and looks great plus a snake map light overhead for when you need to read or see something important. Factory leather wrapped steering wheel that looks incredible and since these are the groovy seventies medium shag carpet that still has plenty of fluff on the floor. Super rare Quadrasonic working AM/FM Stereo 8 Track Tape Deck that is gorgeous plus your very own first eight track cassette if you have none still in your basement. Mechanically she has a very solid drive train with a motor that runs great and transmission that sifts well. Her rear end is good and underneath that might still be her factory exhaust and things look like they should. Worst part of this extremely rare Mustang Cobra is the fact that she will need a new headliner for sure because there is not one plus the driver’s side seat shows more wear than the passenger side including the headrest. A few minor cracks under the dash pad that otherwise looks really nice. The factory air-conditioner does not blow cold unfortunately but is one hundred percent complete and looks fabulous. Brand new gas shocks for her lift back that stays up beautifully and all her weather stripping is in great shape all around. Her back seat looks great and this model is the 2+2 edition with a factory fold down molded sport bench. Her unique rear seat is mint and the extra storage is great along with the versatility this option offers. She is rolling on a set of polished slotted silhouette racing rims that look incredible with great tread all around. Rear spare wheel well is super clean and dry plus her grill and side lights are spotless. She is not brand new by any means whatsoever but most definitely not a headache either. Collect or drive this classic Cobra because they are not making anymore from the factory circa nineteen seventy eight.
