Vehicle Detail

This is 1958 AMC American Rambler Super, sometimes referred to as a Nash American. It is a "Super" package which was the premium package for the year, and has a factory Overdrive. The car is a 3-speed, "3 on the Tree" which is the easiest shifting car I have ever had. It takes every gear with ease. This car has 44,000 original miles. I purchased this car from gentlemen that inherited the car from the original owner back in the spring. I drove it every nice day as my everyday driver to work. It starts incredibly easy. The fuel pump was rebuilt and new fuel line put in. When I got the car I got new front brake cylinders. The car stops and drives great, and handles highway speeds decent for a car its age. The car itself is very solid with minimal rust on the undercarriage. AMC really blasted these things with rust protection in the day. There are some spots forming in parts of the trunk, and on the bumpers however. The following is a link to the Wikipedia page giving more information about the car. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rambler_American Just a few things to mention. The Good Tires in solid condition Brakes are Brand new in the front Seats are original and in excellent condition Motor runs and drives great on the hottest and coldest of days Upgraded headlights as bright as modern ones. 44,000 Original Miles The Bad Minor Rust forming on Bumpers The Overdrive does not work. (I believe it to be a bad electrical connection, mechanically everything seems ok.) The speedometer went out last weekend. I am trying to get this fixed. Headliner is missing. I have the cross beams however. Car smokes a little. Told this is due from it sitting as long as it did. The car has 44K miles on it so it has not been driven much in a while. Gas gage does not work below half. My guess is bad float or ground. Works above half just fine. I know people will ask and the reason I am selling is because due to medical reasons, for the time being anyway I am no longer able to able to drive a car. So I would rather it be enjoyed by someone then continuously taunting me to drive it in the garage. This has been a very reliable and fun car to drive and I hope it is for someone else. You can email me back through ebay if you have any questions or call or text my father Mark at 574.302.7136 for a test drive. The best to see how fun this car is, is to come drive it. I will be happy to answer any question. I have many more questions, but ebay will only let you post 4 for free. Located in Edwardsburg, MI.
