1965 Chevrolet C-20 Pickup Hello to all you old truck fans in eBay land. Check this vintage truck out! This is a very solid and original 1965 Chevy Pickup Fleetside. It is a 20 which means ¾ ton towing capability. This truck is a matching number vehicle and has the factory equipped 283 in³ (4.6 L) V8 with 185 hp mated to a 4-speed manual floor shift transmission. This is a nice truck for its age.. For any age actually. This C-20 has been in the same family since new. Grandpa bought it new in 1965, gave it to his son in 1980, and now in 2013 the son finally got it. Regretfully, he just can’t keep the truck indoors and tucked away for just the one trip a year to get a Christmas tree. He knows that the truck will just deteriorate if he tries to keep it. I had asked his dad to be first in line if he ever sold it so when I got the call, I rushed over with cash. The truck’s color is Artesian Turquoise and it was re-sprayed about 1980 at the time when Dad got it from Grandpa. It is a little faded now, but still looks good and the patina is perfect for a truck like this. There are a couple of spots of rust that have accumulated in the trailing edges of the lower wheel arch and a pin hole in the driver’s side rocker. I pictured it all and that is as bad as it gets for this Chev. It is very dry underneath and the corrosion is limited to these areas. The wood of the bed is good and to keep it that way is also covered by painted and treated plywood cut to exact fit. There is a broken board behind the drivers rear wheel that I pictured. All of the glass and mirrors are crack free and non-pitted. The interior is excellent. As good as anyone could hope for. No odd changes over the years, no added stereo garbage from the past. No house carpets haphazardly fitted to the floors.. Just honest and stock clean perfection. The seat has been re-upholstered and was done properly with top materials. The rubber floor coverings are clean and wear free. No rips of loose edges anywhere. All of the gages work properly and the cab is water and air tight. No whistling windows or leaking rubber seals. I hope the pictures demonstrate how clean and sanitary the interior of this truck is. Your high expectations will be met. The truck drives as good as it looks. I would consider it to be in excellent condition mechanically. The 283 V8 starts instantly with no arguments. There is no leaking or smoking or stalling. The 4-Speed is as smooth as can be. The trucks transmission shifts easily through all of its gears up and down and the clutch is perfect with just an inch of freeplay at the top. The brakes stop straight and true and the tires are 80% tread or better. This is the real truck just as I got it. I did this so you could see that this is not some mouse house barn find, made to look pretty again with spit and polish. This is an honest survivor that has been road ready for 48 years. This C-20 is as original as they come and is also reliable enough to use every day. It has all of the vintage appeal that makes this truck a great choice for collectability and has enough style for anybody.
