This is a European-specification car that was imported directly into the US. Therefore, it has a higher horsepower engine than the American version. It also has smaller, more attractive bumpers and a more attractive front spoiler than the American version. This is one of the highest serial number GTSi's, which means that it is one of the last ones made. Therefore, it includes a number of the improvements that were incorporated into the QV model that succeeded it (such as the bearings related to the timing belt). The exterior is red. The paint is generally in good condition. From 10 feet away, the paint looks good. From 3 feet or closer, you can see a few thumb-size blister spots. There are a few cracks in the front spoiler from the previous owner bumping into a curb. There is some indication of rust on the bottoms of both doors where it appears that some water collected, but the rust is not visible with the doors closed. This car has a targa top, which means that you can remove the center section of the roof if you want to drive with no top. The interior is tan leather with red carpet. The interior is in good condition. The headliner is made out of a tweedy fabric, and it shows some wear from the top being taken on and off. Work we have done to the car includes: * did a top-end engine rebuild, which including milling the heads, replacing the valve guides, and machining the seats/valves * upgraded the starter to the Ferrari high-torque gear-reduction starter (which is much better than the original Fiat starter) * rebuilt the fuse box (this a common problem on these cars) * replaced the spark plugs, spark plug wires, and spark plug extenders * replaced the vacuum lines * rebuilt the water pump * replaced the timing belts, timing belt bearings, and tensioners * replaced all the engine oil seals except for the rear main one * replaced the belts * replaced the thermostat * replaced the driveshaft rubber boots * replaced all 3 crank-position sensors * replaced the oil-pressure spring and added the upgraded shim * rebuilt the fuel injection system (see below) * installed a new, stainless-steel exhaust system * replaced all coolant hoses, including the coolant hose that runs through the rocker panel We rebuilt the fuel injection system, including a new fuel pump, fuel accumulator, fuel injectors, fuel filter, and fuel injection lines. Larry Fletcher rebuilt the fuel distributor and the warm-up regulator. Here is a list of the car's known problems: * the driver-side seatbelt doesn't reel in or out, and because of that, you can't buckle it * A/C and heater do not work * radio doesn't work * window motors do not work * windshield wipers do not work, and the wiper arms are missing * the brake rotors probably need to be turned * there is no spare tire, and the cover for the top of spare tire area is missing * the existing tires appear old, so we would recommend a new set of tires We bought this car before we had three children, and now, we just don't have the time to drive it enough or to enjoy working on it.
