1991 Georgia State Patrol AND Albany State University “SSP” Ford Mustang This 1991 SSP Mustang was originally delivered to the Georgia State Police for use in traffic enforcement. The car was in-service with the Georgia State Police from new in 1991 until 1997 when the car was retired and transferred/sold to Albany State University in Albany Georgia for use as a campus patrol car. The car remained at Albany State University until 2004 when the car was sold at auction in non-running condition with all the livery decals spray painted and ugly to the first civilian owner who was an SSP collector/enthusiast. I am told the first civilian owner never did anything with the car and ultimately sold the car not running to the second civilian owner who also is a SSP collector/enthusiast. The second civilian collector/enthusiast did nothing to the car and sold the car not running to the third civilian collector/enthusiast in 2012. The third collector/enthusiast decided to get the car running and driving but did nothing to the exterior or interior condition. I am the fourth collector/enthusiast to purchase this car since retirement from Albany State University. I purchased the car running & driving but still in ugly as retired condition from service at Albany State University condition. Hard to believe that this car has basically been sitting with no love or attention since retired from Albany State University in 2004. This 1991 Georgia State Patrol SSP Mustang is loaded with 302 HO Engine, AOD Automatic Transmission, Power Disc Brakes, Power Rack & Pinion Steering, Factory Air Conditioning, Power Windows, Power Door Locks, Rear Window Defogger, Tach & Gauges, Buckets/Console, Power Mirrors, Factory Aluminum Wheels, 5 Period Correct General XP 2000 AS Tires, Full Size Spare Tire, Traction-Lok 8.8 Rear-End, Re-located Trunk Release, Police Only Re-Enforced Floor Pan, Oil Cooler, Optional Police Only Grounding Straps, Delay Windshield Wipers, Leather Wrapped Steering Wheel and More! The original door sticker is still on the driver's door.  Both Buck Tags are still attached to the radiator support and the original build sheet is with the car. The car has only 121,000 Original Miles! Mechanically the car runs good. The car starts quickly with no smoke or noise. Everything under the hood is complete and in un-modified condition. The power brakes are excellent. The power rack & pinion steering is tight and leak free. The factory air conditioning is COLD! The exhaust is complete with all factory catalytic converters in place along with factory mufflers and tailpipes. One muffler needs replaced. The car has a new water pump, new fan and fan clutch, battery and new electric fuel pump. The original gas tank and sending unit have been replaced with good used parts. The car has been serviced with fresh oil/filter, anti-freeze, transmission fluid and rear differential fluid. I have evacuated & re-charged the A/C system. The A/C is cold. The heater core is good and is connected. All the lights work including the license plates lights. The power windows work properly along with the power door locks. All the gauges work properly. The factory radio works properly. The only light showing on the dash is the low coolant light. I have replace the low coolant sending unit with 2 different known good units with the same results. This will be something for the new owner to address! I have installed on the car a NICE set of 5 period correct and in excellent condition General 225/60-15 XP 2000 AS tires and nice original 10 hole wheels. The tires and wheels on the car when I purchased the car were in poor condition. The suspension on the car appears completely original with Motorcraft shocks. All the police package unique grounding straps are on the car along with the VASCAR speedo cable and 135 amp alternator.   The exterior of the car is in good condition considering the condition when I purchased the car. The blue paint on the car is the second paint job applied by Albany State University. This Basecoat/Clearcoat paint is in good condition with the original Albany State University livery still on the car. This car is absolutely RUST-FREE! The headlights, side marker lights and taillights are original Ford parts. All the glass in the car is original Glass including the windshield. ALL THE BODY PANELS on this car are original to the car. This car appears to have never been wrecked or damaged. All the original Ford VIN stickers are still on the fenders, hood, doors, bumper covers, trunk-lid and quarter panels. The original Ford door sticker is still in the driver doors. Both original Body Buck Tags are still on the car behind the drivers side headlight. The original build sheet is with the car.  All the body panels are very straight. All the original body side moldings are still on the car. The interior of the car is very nice! I have restored the original front bucket seats/headrests & rear seat with New Old Stock (NOS) original seat material in the original color and seat pattern. The original carpet is in nice condition. The original door panels are excellent. The rear package tray is original. The Georgia State Police installed Roll Bar is still installed in the car as original. The center console is nice with a working ash tray door. The original style radio works properly. The headliner Is in good condition. I have recovered the original leather wrapped steering wheel with a new leather cover that looks great. All the original seat belts are complete. It is VERY RARE to find a low mileage SSP Mustang that served 2 different jurisdictions much less a low mileage Georgia State Patrol Mustang.
