Vehicle Detail

Selling my 1987 930 turbo slant nose. This is a true factory optioned M505 slant nose from Porsche. The car has right at 82,000 miles. The color is grand Prix white over black leather. Power sun roof, locks, windows, seats. I am the 3rd owner of the car. The first owner had the car from new in 1987 through 2006 in California. The second owner, my buddy bought the car in 2006 and brought it to the Tampa Bay, Florida area. I purchased last year on 9/16/2012 with 77,723 miles. The car still resides in the Tampa Bay area. So it’s a California/Florida car. No snow or salty roads obviously. The first owner kept meticulous documented records from the day it was new until it was sold. Everything is in plastic sleeves in a binder with dates and mileage circled. The second owner, my buddy, wasn’t so meticulous. He does have a few records he passed on to me, but from 2006-2012, I don’t have much. I know where he serviced the car and I had a PPI done on the car and everything checked out. I have kept all my records since the purchase and everything will be included with the sale. I also have all the important basics that came with the car. The glove box pouch with all booklets and paperwork, original window sticker, keys, tool kit, jack, spare, tire pump kit and all that good stuff. Also comes with a certificate of authenticity from Porsche stating all options and interesting information. The car does have a few modifications that were done by my buddy (the second owner). However the good news is I have all the original parts to return it to stock, EXCEPT the original turbo. I am told you can find these very easily and at a low cost. I checked with a local guy recently here in my area and he said he has a load of them on the shelf If I need one. So I figured anybody that must have the original turbo will be able to find one if wanted.Thats the only thing I do not have. Here is a list of the modifications done to the car. *18” HRE Competition c21 wheels sizes 18x9 front and 18x11 rears. Michelin PS2 tires sizes 245/35/18 fronts and 295/30/18 rears. I do have the original Fuchs for the car 16x7 fronts and 16x9 rears with factory rear spacers and longer rear lug bolts. I do not have tires for the Fuchs because I can’t find the rears anywhere. The fronts are available by a few different makers, but the rears are hard to find. So I only have the wheels. I also have the factory Porsche center caps that were recently redone and the crests were hand painted. *K27 Turbo installed *Snell headers and supposedly a fabspeed exhaust, however I cannot verify the exhaust to be a fabspeed and I don’t think it is.It does sound good and when the Turbo comes on it sound great. Not to loud not to quiet. I was actually stopped at a light the other day by a guy who had to tell me he loved how the car sounded when I passed him by. I do have the original headers and muffler that came with the car in case one wanted to return it to stock. *It also has a factory 930S steering wheel. I removed the wheel and checked and found that it is a factory Porsche part, not a replica. I also have the original wheel in a bag in mint condition if one wanted to return it to stock. So that’s it.Other then that the car is all original. I love the fact that the original Blaupunkt is still in the car as is the original speakers and grilles in the rear. The grilles are a bit cracked but they are the originals and almost impossible to find. The car drives straight and tracts beautifully. I had it corner balanced and aligned at a race shop here locally where I had my 82 911SC track car built. I dropped $6000 into the car within 3 weeks of owning it to bring it up to my standards. I do this with all the cars I buy. I added all new tires, so the PS2s are less then a year old from Tirerack.Changed all fluids including brake, oil, tranny.Changed all filters and belts. New battery. Rebuilt starter. New fuel pumps. Repacked front wheel bearings. I had any minor dents and dings removed via paint less dent repair/removal. Sent the tach and speedo out to California and had them both recalibrated. Adjust the valves. I have the receipts for all the work and parts I have done. The car drives just as it is supposed to. It shifts great, every now and again I do have to double clutch it to get it into first if Im at a dead stop, say at a light or something. I am told this is normal on 930s also. She pulls hard and when the Turbo comes on at about 3000RPM it is an incredible boost of power. I still can’t believe this car is from 1987.It must have felt like the space shuttle to the original owner back then. Every button works. The windshield wiper squirters squirt, cruise control works, the lights in the glove box and under the hood work. The sunroof slides fast and perfect. The horn works. No distortion in the old radio. The power seats all work. Perfect black perforated leather, no rips or tears, never been recovered. No cracks in the dash at all. Perfect headliner as well. The drivers side lumbar sometimes will not deflate as fast as I like if I pump it up, that’s about it.The heat was also removed when they did the new headers but all you have to do is add the old headers and you have the heat back. The A/C is not cold and from what I can tell that’s about the norm for old 911s.Interior is a 9,exterior is a 9.Come see it, you will freak out on how clean the car is for a 80K mile car. Took second place at recent festival of Speed in classic Porsche category. Getting allot of questions regarding paint work. My buddy (2nd owner) had the means to fly around and look at several original unmolested 930 slants. He told me the most important thing to him was finding a car that was never wrecked or had any sort of paint work. He said this car fit the bill. However, I cant verify that it has had any paint work nor do I know how anybody could tell. The car is super clean but it does have rock chips on the mirrors and nose and lower valance. To me it looks to be original but then again, Im no expert. The undercarriage is as clean as the top of the car, a recent trip to the porsche mechanic caused him to tell me hes never seen one so clean underneath, that it hadnt even been scraped or jacked up/lifted wrong. Its a solid car but if you want a concourse car,its not that. Shes a driver! The car does leak oil. Let’s face it, it’s has an 80K mile air cooled Turbo engine and it deals with extreme temps, year in and year out. It has developed an oil leak since I purchased it. I actually drive the car and have fun with it , so it doesnt suprise me. Nothing major, I always keep it topped off. I always drive the car under 4000 RPMs for at least 10 minutes or until the temp guage gets up to normal operating tempeture. I park it on cardboard in my garage and after a good drive it will leak onto the cardboard. Nothing crazy but its there. I was told by Frank Eibel who is a local Porsche mechanic legend that the oil leak is normal and that if I kept the car I could get another 20-25K miles out of it before I needed to start thinking about a rebuild. Just want to disclose that as a rebuild can be costly, however this is a car that will only appreciate in value anyway. Either way, the leak does not take away from the function of the motor in anyway. She runs and drives just as she supposed to. So that’s it.This is my dream car from when I was a teenager in the late 80s.Its been a thrill to own. I treated her very nice and she hasn’t disappointed me one time. The 930 is truly a unique beast and with the slant nose option, this car is very special. She starts right up, drives very nice, and will scare you when you decide to put your right foot down. She stops very fast when the brakes are applied. The old girl demands EVERYBODYS attention when she pulls in to the local cars and coffee! I would love to sell her to the 4th owner and prefer not to sell to anybody who just wants to flip the car. This car is incredible and I invite any interested parties to contact me.PPI is encouraged and welcomed. I have nothing to hide, nor does my car. A test ride is welcomed! Clean car fax/no accidents. The car must be paid in full within 5 days.Call me to discuss shipping/payment info.I owe a small amount to the bank on the car,so please allow a couple weeks max for me to get the title to you.Its a clean title and its through Wells fargo Auto Finance.I have sold my 82 911SC and my 95 993 via ebay and will make it as easy as possible for any potential buyers! Silly offers will not be reponded to, no trades either. I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. Thanks for looking. leakdown reults from my PPI back on 9/7/12.
