We are selling a rust-free, restored 1959 Austin Healey Bugeye Sprite. I originally bought the car in Birmingham, Al. in 1997 when my son was 2 years old with the intention of restoring the car when he was old enough to participate and appreciate it. Being a transplanted northerner, I had never seen a rust-free Bugeye, and was only too happy to buy this car from the owner who was intending to part it out. The car remained almost untouched with the exception of front and rear suspension, until 2006-07, when my son and I started on the car from front to back. We replaced any parts with new/rebuilt and kept everything original. The following items were replaced/rebuilt; 948cc w/ported head, fuel pump, starter, generator (tachometer & tach drive work) brake/clutch master cylinder, brake drums, shoes, wheel cylinders, front shocks, clutch, slave cylinder, rear springs, emergency brake cable, cloth wiring harness, lights/lenses, new interior/carpet. Car runs, shifts and drives well, and draws a crowd wherever it goes. We have set our sights on another project and are reluctantly selling our beloved Bugeye.
