This Pony is ready for you to just hop in and drive anywhere for some summer fun! Great example of an unmolested first generation factory V8 Mustang that has been in Southern California it’s entire life. This has been our family weekend car for the past 2 years now and I’ve decided to put it up for sale to get a new family Cruiser. I would also be open to trade for a 61-65 Lincoln of similar value or a 67-69 Camaro. I purchased this Mustang from a gentleman in San Diego, CA a couple years ago who said his employer was the original owner since 66’. Most of the restoration was done by the previous owner and I did some cosmetic work to it as well as regular maintenance. Runs great and hasn’t given me any mechanical issues since I’ve had it. Clean CA title in hand ready to be transferred to new owner. Car still has the factory 289 engine that was rebuilt in 2010 along with the C-4 transmission and both have under 20k miles since. Drives excellent and pulls like a beast! The engine was rebuilt using performance parts including a mild race Cam and solid lifters. It also has an Edelbrock intake, Holley double-pumper carb, Hooker Headers, GT style exhaust that sounds amazing, complete Mallory ignition system, traction bars for added performance off the line and a few other upgrades. Unlike many old ponies this Mustang is very easy to drive with the added feature of power steering and power brakes. It’s very reliable and could make a great daily driver if you don’t mind the gas mileage and setting off a few car alarms every now and then. Suspension and steering are good and car handles great at all speeds. Has new rear air shocks as well to manually adjust ride height. Car is sitting on 15” Centerline racing wheels with good tires about 80% tread left. Car was originally wimbledon white and previous owner had it painted a nice shade of dark red which still looks great. There are a couple tiny imperfections from average use but nothing noticeable and as you can see in pictures it shines very nice! Body is straight and has excellent ¼” seams between fenders, doors, hood, and trunk. Doors open and close very easy and they have no sagging when fully open like many old mustangs tend to. All original factory sheet metal including rust-free frame rails, floor pans, torque boxes, trunk area, ect.. The fuel tank is the only thing that has been replaced recently. New weather-stripping throughout as well. Original glass all around and all 4 windows roll up and down fine. Exterior chrome trim is nice and clean with no pitting anywhere. Interior is nice and clean, has a rare factory bench seat instead of front buckets. Upholstery is in good shape on both front and seats, good carpet & headliner, newer dash pad, clean door panels, and nice original steering wheel. Dashboard is all original and still has the factory radio unlike many old mustangs that get butchered with new ones. This one has an aftermarket stereo concealed in the glove box area with speakers in the rear deck and front kick panels. All the electrical system was recently serviced and everything works just as is should including headlights, turn signals, wipers, heater, instrument cluster gauges, rear lights, ect.. Don’t miss out on a the opportunity to buy a great classic Mustang at a fraction of the price it cost to build. Car is available for inspection by any serious bidder during this auction so feel free to send me a message with your phone number and I will call you to set up an appointment. As all other classic cars it is being sold in AS IS condition with no warranty included in this sale. Please ask questions if you are unsure of anything prior to bidding. This is a NO RESERVE listing so the car will go to the highest bidder no matter what. View my feedback and bid with confidence.
