This is a mostly original car that has been very well cared for by an older gentleman. He purchased the car from Iowa approx. 20 years ago. There is absolutely no rust through anywhere on the car. The underneath of the car is solid as a rock. This baby drives very tight and runs down the road sweet. The interior is almost like new and the top is in excellent shape. The model number (440H) was the top of line American with the big six (232 cu in). The car was recently completely serviced to include the following:* Tires - New Radials. *Engine - New - Dist Cap, Spark Plugs, Points, Condensor, Rotor Button, Plug Wires, Rebuilt Carb, Hoses, Fuel Filter, Thermostat, Air Filter,Anti-freeze, and Oil and Filter change. *Drive Train - Front End And U-joints Lubed, Trannie and Rear end Lube added. *Brakes - New - Master Cylinder, Wheel Cylinders, Brake Hardware, Brake Shoes, and All 4 Brake Drums Turned. The minuses are the horn and radio do not work. The paint on the car I would consider a 10 footer. It has a nice shine and no fade spots, but you can tell it is getting old. I would consider it a 6.5 on a 1-10 scale, with 10 being a top notch paint job.On Jul-19-13 at 12:54:20 PDT, seller added the following information: I adding this information to correct a few mistakes when listed. The car is a 440 not a 440H. I have been told that the interior is not original. I have been told repeatedly that the engine is a 196, but the plug wiring sequence comes back to a 232 according to the Chilton's 1964 car manual. I not going to debate this, I will let you be the judge. The one thing that I am positive of is that this is a very nice little convertible and great for Cruising !
