1960 Willys Pickup 6 cylinder "Super Hurricane" 3 speed Borg-Warner transmission Spicer/Dana transfer case 1 ton payload PTO winch solid body and bed Glass good / no cracks Last year for "split windshield" some rust on floor pans and bed floor upgraded to alternator and electric fuel pump Parts replaced to make run: Brake shoes = 4 Wheel cylinders = 4 Master cylinder Battery Points Oil Oil filter Tires = 4 Carburetor kit Here's what I was told: The Forest Service ordered the truck but it ended up in private use by a farmer and his son in Northern Colorado. The son purchased from Dad in the 80's and rebuilt the engine and painted it. Because it was built to Forest Service specifications it has 16 inch wheels and had no tailgate (a "custom" tailgate was built in the 60's along with the 2 tool boxes). A professional mechanic has worked on the Willys to make it run (hasn't been operating for who knows how many years). Engine sounds good when warmed up, choke is very touchy, and she needs a muffler. If I could....I would....just too old and can't get into spaces or positions I use to. This is a diamond in the rough. She is very suitable for restoration or make into one very nice Hot Rod.
