Vehicle Detail
This vintage Power Wagon was purchased sight unseen two years ago without regret. It arrived in drivable condition and was said by the dealer to have been restored about 20 years ago and used lightly since. Work done on the truck since then has focused on the drive train, i.e., identifying all lube points and lubing, fluid changes, front and rear brakes, steering arm replacement and the installation of lock out hubs. Lap belts were installed and a new battery was installed last week. New spark plugs have been installed and a complete tune-up with new spark plug cables, points and timing is planned even though the truck starts and runs flawlessly. Everything in this truck functions. Since the above work, the truck has been driven about 300 miles, including a couple 50 mile trips, and a run for bags of mulch. The truck was used in a July 4th parade where it ran perfectly, creeping at walking pace in first gear without the need to make constant use of the clutch. It was also in a small local car show. There has never been any issue of overheating, engine failure or other problem with this Power Wagon. In the parade and around town this past July Fourth weekend, while flying a large American flag, this truck has been a big crowd pleaser, generating big grins and thumbs up from men, women and children alike. This is the original civilian 4 wheel drive truck, built by Dodge, in Detroit at Dodge Main, on essentially a military chassis derived from tooling paid for by the government for a line of military trucks at the onset of WWII. This same model Power Wagon, was built with little change from 1946 to 1968 for domestic consumption and up to 1973 for export. It is a quintessential American truck, rugged, powerful and reliable. It is possible that there is more really good American steel in the fenders and running board of one side of this truck than in any modern car body. The most universal comment onlookers make about this truck: "Now that, is really cool." What else could they say? A variety of resources and manuals will come with the Power Wagon including an Owner's Manual. The truck is being sold to raise money for long term medical expenses. Buyer's will be responsible for local pick-up or for arranging transport. On Jul-11-13 at 04:50:53 PDT, seller added the following information: Serial No: 83927546. Model: B-3-PW-I26.
